Ratingbuster - just to check
Been using this on and off ever since i hit 80, however i have been dubious about it, probably because i don't know too well how it calculates things. First off, is it worth using? And why? Second, does it calculate spell damage based on all the stats on the item? I always believed this to be spell power thus didnt believe it when it said an item with less spell power had an increased spell damage value. Third, how does it account for hit rating? I have also used Rhadatip and i know how it works with hit rating, yet every single item i look at gives me a negative value, so i disabled that too. Is there a better one to use? or both? Thanks in advance. |

Re: Ratingbuster - just to check
When you say SP gained from spirit, does that include it in the overall spell damage number it gives? |

No, beside each raw stat on the item (e.g. Int, AGI, Spriti, etc) , it places a number within parenthesis for how it affects your secondary stats (e.g. spell power, crit, MP5) For example (and this is not meant to be accurate, just demonstrative) Spirit: 90 becomes Spirit: 90 (+30 spell) Note that it will ONLY show the bonus spellpower from spirit if you have Fel Armor on. |

I use it and it is a good quick and dirty look at individual stat difference. Well I found this add-on and have been playing with it for a few weeks now. It is called RhadaTip DPS/HPS tool tip http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-a...s-tooltip.aspx it works with Equipcompare. I recommend reading the curse description well. It will give you the DPS or HPS increase or decrease of a particular piece of gear. You have to know your theory craft numbers, like how much spell power effects dps and input those numbers. You can find those numbers at http://code.google.com/p/simulationc...SampleOutputT9 The big thing to remember is to set up your hit cap numbers. Like in my case hit is = 4.49 dps until capped. Also you need to have an idea of your avg cast time for trinket procs. Like My avg cast is between 1.6 to 1.8 cast a second. This helps determine the proper trinkets. I set this up for a Shaman also and it works great. When the next patch comes out you will have to adjust your numbers because scaling will change for T10 Once you get it set up it will give you the amount of dps increase. One more thing you need to set it up for each of your specs. Just change specs and enter in the numbers again. I recently have been changing hit numbers on the nights we do not have a shadow priest. Know this when you use the gear optimization your game will slow down frame rates will crash till it is done. Read the Curse description and operation. Decided to go with Rhadatip once more. Is it worth combining it with WoWequip? It seemed doing this last time told me everything i tested was a downgrade. And what would avg casting time be? an average casting time of a shadow bolt or what? |

WoWEquip + RhadaTip are pretty powerful, they enable you to go n items ahead of your current setup, rather than just one. This also means that you can use them to compute the best in slot warlock list, if you really want to. WoWEquip is therefore not mandatory for most of the occasions. About the average casting time, no, it isn't the average of shadowbolts only. As it says on the faqs page on curse or wowinterface: Quote:

Don't you have a parse, like a wws or even recount, of a pretty static fight like koralon, patchwerk etc? From there it will be easy to count how many immolates you have casted, how many incinerates, and so on so forth, and divide the fight length for that sum of spells. |
