Replacement for Teamspeak Overlay ?
Dear fellow warlocks, After a break of six months, I started playing again and am facing a small technical annoyance : experimenting with Windows 7 on a second hard drive, I noticed it is impossible to launch WoW when Team Speak Overlay (TSO, the little program which allows ingame to see who is just speaking on Teamspeak) is opened, I tried every compatibility mode, nothing helps. When TSO is launched, game crashes, opposite to Vista where it used to work so-so although not supported (TSO is not developped anymore and officially supports only up to XP). It is a bit annoying not to see who is talking during instances and raiding, does someone know a programm or an add-on which replaces Teamspeak Overlay, id est which allows to see whom is just speaking ingame ? |

Thank you very much, but I have to stay with Teamspeak, the guild won't use a new chat programm just because I cannot use Team Speak Overlay anymore :-) Teamspeak works fine under WoW + Windows 7, the problem I have is just to find an add-on or a program which displays the person speaking on Teamspeak, as TSO won't work anymore. Anyhow, thanks for your input ! |

Try the PlayClaw. It is a bit more, because it can handle the screenshots and other stuffs. I do not use the other features of PlayClaw only the teamspeak part, which can show, who is speaking. It eats only ~15 MB what is not too much sacrifice I think. |

You might consider whether your teamspeak that you put on windows 7 is 32 or 64 bit. Some overlay programs will only work with the 32bit versions of software because they are old. Also, there are various compatibility options in the properties of programs under windows 7, you could consider playing with those from the obvious 'compatability' button to turning on 'run as admin'. I wouldnt change all these things at the same time, but one of them might hold some help for you too |

Thanks for input :-) i'll try Playclaw, I've already tried the different compatibiliy options of TSO (xp SP2, xp SP 3 etc.) and it didn't work. My Vista and my 7 are both 64bits OS; not sure wether there is a 64bits version of Teamspeak (which works anyhow). For TSO, there is only one option, 32bits, and Vista and 7 are not supported because the program is not developped anymore. |
