Can Power Auras be set up for pet status?
Thanks to a number of useful threads in the Den, I've configured Power Auras to remind me when Fel Armor, Spell Stones, pots or well fed buffs drop off, but one thing I haven't been able to figure out is whether or not I can get it to show me when my pet is on passive. More than once, I've taken my pet off defensive so that he'd (he? she?) stick on the boss instead of slimes or what-ever-else-is-beating-on-me and forgot to put it back on trash. Can Power Auras be set up to show pet passivity?

Although it is possible to code such an addon, Power Auras currently does not support it as an option.

My pet attacks whatever I am attacking. Even if i reel him back with my mouse wheel whatever I then attack he goes on it. A bit annoying on some fights. He is on defensive. Should I just put him on passive and have him strictly 'on the wheel'? |

Re: Can Power Auras be set up for pet status?
I always keep my fel guard on defensive, unless it's a boss like Saufang where I don't want him going anywhere - and then I'll stick him on passive and <ctrl>1 him onto target. Any other fight I'll send him where I want him but keep him on defensive, so that the rest of the time he picks his own targets (much better than he ever used to) - and I want him attacking constantly for the buff. In terms of showing when Life Tap is off I'd have thought it was possible to configure it in the menu, just set it to show an aura when buff is off in combat. |

Yes, it's possible to show Life Tap via Power Aura. Type in /powa and the UI should show up. If it's a global ability, then just click New. Click on "Custom Texture" and use the Life Tap's Spell ID (via wowhead): 57946 and press enter. The Life Tap icon should now appear. You can set the Opacity to 100% and the color to White should make it so the image is normal. I don't quite remember if this is how I did it but I'll double check tonight and edit the post and put up some SS. Anyway, once you have the Life Tap icon where you want on the screen by moving the XY positions and the size of it, click on the tab that says "Timer" Click on the Show check box and it should appear on the screen also. It should be counting down random numbers. Click on "Hide leading zeros" (so it only shows seconds) and also click on Use transparent textures. Move XY positions to place it where ever you'd like the timer to be. There's a line that says "Hide aura, blahblah" and move it to 5 seconds. That means when the buff only has five seconds left then you will see it. If you click Animation, you can have the Life Tap icon animate when it shows up but I just left that alone... Hope this helps. ---- As for it showing if your pet is on passive, I don't believe the add on supports this. There is a possibility though that it might be able to keep track of your pet's abilities though. Last edited by Parsnup; March 26, 2010 at 10:18 AM.. |

Re: Can Power Auras be set up for pet status?
You *could* set up a text aura which maybe says 'passive/defensive'? In a raid, out of combat, so just before you begin it will remind you, then as you start combat it will disappear. If you are in a raid hanging around though the aura might get on your nerves a little, but it is an option. As you're always going to have a stance it will always be there though. If you go do BGs or trash pulls it would also be pretty annoying. But maybe have it somewhere small. I might test this tonight as like you I can see myself forgetting. |
