Changing Icons on Macro as Spells Change

Not the clearest title, but I'm wondering how I can make it so that my button that I've tied a macro to shows the icon of the spell being cast in sequence.

I'm trying to macro Charge and Victory Rush for my warrior:

/cast Charge
/cast Victory Rush

It works, but the button shows only Charge. Anyway to get it to show the icon for Victory Rush after the first action?

Re: Changing Icons on Macro as Spells Change

#showooltip
/castsequence=reset (fill in number in seconds) charge, victory rush

That ought to work, I don't really think it's wise to macro victory rush to charge though. You might be better of using a macro that either charges/intercepts or intervene using castsequence and [harm] [help]

Thanks, I'll try this macro. I don't really play my warrior for anything but questing now, so this just saves a step. If I actually tank with him, I'll get rid of the macro.

There's a typo - it should be

#showtooltip

And this is (as far as i know) the only macro command that is case sensitive.

For this to work, you also need to choose the icon button that shows a question mark.

Re: Changing Icons on Macro as Spells Change

This is an old macro that i used to use for my lazy casting.... one button spam FTW... you can replace the spell names with which ever spell you wish to cast (case sensitive!).

#showtooltip
/castsequence [nomod:shift/alt/ctr] reset=target/combat Corruption, Bane of Agony, Haunt, Unstable Affliction

this macro works for most rotations... even used it on my resto druid pre 4.0. Hope this helps

Re: Changing Icons on Macro as Spells Change

The #showtooltip command works on the 2nd line of text only, which is why castsequence/castrandom commands work as they are all on the same line.

#showtooltip
/cast [nomod] Charge; [mod:shift] Victory Rush

Shift to use Victory Rush, else normal function is Charge. Please do not use a cast sequence macro as a Warrior, our abilities cooldowns are too different as well as the use, I never use Victory Rush on every pull, and a cast sequence would require you too, effectively making the fight last longer.

I just use my warrior for questing when I've run out of dailies on my lock. Macroing VR to charge only for this. If I actually start to tank again, I wouldn't do it.

Re: Changing Icons on Macro as Spells Change

The issue is, unless you macro the sequence reset to your charge cooldown, you may not be able to charge until you use VR, but then you can't VR until you charge..

And to the above, above. I sure hope you don't actually use that sequence macro to put up all your dots.

@ Teon,

like i stated, this is my lazy pull macro... I use this, when i'm just questing, and watching tv. lol the button on the other side of my keyboard. I never use this in an instance of any sort. ;-) I am now currently running destro, and have only BOA and Corruption on this macro, for tab target farming.
