Re: Recommended Add-ons
It seems like you can remove Grimoire Keeper since we no longer have Demon Trainers as mentioned by quasimoto. I also agree with ihateyou that Quartz should be on this list.

Re: Recommended Add-ons
Yes the list needs to be looked at with Wrath of the Lich King changes, please people give me a chance. I can only do so much. And Quartz was not added as it is not a Warlock specific addon.

Re: Recommended Add-ons
Necrosis was discontinued by Lomig but is now currently up-to-date as Necrosis LdC being maintained by ArPharazon (Nagrand - US/Oceanic). Available at curse.com. |

Re: Recommended Add-ons
DoT Timer is nice, but it tends to be a memory hog in 10-25 raids and honestly gives me TOO much information. I personally use SpellTimers : WoWInterface Downloads : Buff/Debuff/Spell Mods It puts a nice hard to miss (movable and configurable) bar on your screen that shows your debuffs on the target, shows buffs on the target, debuffs on a focus, and buffs on a focus. Plus, it can work with OmniCC : WoWInterface Downloads : Casting Bars and Cooldowns so it shows a timer on top of the debuffs. Plus, running the two together uses less memory than DoT Timer (at least in a raiding environment). Merely putting this out there as an alternative for people, especially now the debuff cap has gone bye bye and we need to pay more attention to our dots.

Re: Recommended Add-ons
Neither is Dotimer ![]() Its used by any class with dots or hots. Think Quartz is worth a mention.

Re: Recommended Add-ons
several that were stated are not lock specific, and with that in mind I would highly several others: quartz, shows latency within the cast bar, can move the cast bar anywhere you want on screen, and can greatly improve dps. Grid, i have all 25 raid members within a 2x2 square in the lower right cornor, its a great way to be able to find anyone in the raid to throw that wipe recovery ss on a rezzer, and it colors everyone by class. clique, can set key binds as mouse overs, its a great way to be able to cast on the main target and the focus easily. power auras, shows a ring, icon, etc around or on your toon to let you know when certain things proc, can be totally customized to whatever procs you have, or to when you lose a spell, such as armors. bartender, total customization of your action bars, even has built in key binding making setting keybinds alot easier. If I remember right lylock is no longer supported, used it a while back and cant find a 3.0 compatable version, loved it but now I use Forte warlock instead, shows shard count, not only users but every lock in the raid also, cd's on SS, Anhk, and Brez, its a great addon, glad i found it. My UI is custom and will help with any addon i mentioned, I have worked with most these addons for a very long time now. |

Re: Recommended Add-ons
Warlock Specific Add-ons DoT Timer (Optional -- Part of many addons now) [ Curse Gaming ] If you're a minimalist, this makes for a good mod. If you're looking for a robust interface, then this is just a waste. Timers are part of so many other mods you shouldn't crowd your real estate with this...or your memory. Necrosis (OPTIONAL -- Good for lowbies, bad for raiding) [ Curse Gaming ] If you love point and click, this is the mod for you. If you'd like to play right, avoid this mod. A lot of the functions are rolled into better mods that offer a lot more for a warlock. Starting out this isn't a bad mod but as you near raiding, this is the suck. Forte Warlock (Replace this with Forte Exorcist) Download from: [ Curse Gaming ] If you are raiding then this is your mod. Timers, shard trackers, soulstone tracker, and much much more all rolled into one easy to use interface. Highly customizable. As an added bonus, it works for your alts as well as it has settings for DKs, Shaman, etc. One mod, multi-use and a huge saver of time. Lowbies, this is not a mod for you yet. Raiders, this is a must have. LockNotes. [ Curse Gaming ] This is a small mod that simply displays when one of your spells is resisted, along with a short sound clip. Info thread here. I like it a lot. Its usefulness though goes away depending on how you configure the big boy mods. *** Information added 25 Minutes and 43 Seconds later... *** General Add-ons (Non Warlock Specific) Omen Threat Meter (Memory H O G ! !) Needs a rewrite (has been said for a LONG time). Download from: [ Curse Gaming ] While I wouldn't recommend this particular mod I will say that if you're doing 5, 10, or 25 man content without a threat meter, you're wrong. Want to be booted from a party? Keep taking aggro from the tank. Threat meters will help you know when to back off and let dots tick or stand around staring at the fight. Deadly Boss Mod Download from: [ Curse Gaming ] Rating: Voted "must have" or "highly recommended" by nearly all members, you have a choice between this one or BigWigs (see below...)Description: All the bosses found in instances and raids in game have special abilities. This add-on provides timer bars, warnings and alerts for all of them. Member comments: This is a MUST HAVE!! Especially if you are a raider. Deadly boss mod keeps a great timer on the abilities of a boss mod, so it provides a good indicator when you should expect to do something to avoid it, or counteract it. For those in Gruuls Lair, for example, it will tell you when the warlock is casting a felhunter so you can be prepared to control it before it actually starts beating up on a healer. ~ Aloysia Another must have for instancing, this or at least BigWigs. I prefer the eye candy of DBM, plus it has a nice auto-reply to whispers feature. If someone /w you with "status", it'll give them an auto-reply of instance, boss, and hp remaining. It also as the Battleground stuff built-in. ~ Purson If you raid without DBM you must somehow be telepathically hacking the server (or possibly using Bigwigs) but aye, its as essential to raiding as your keyboard. ~ Theleb Read more comments and find out how Warlocks rate it here: Deadly Boss Mod RatingBuster Download from: [ WoW Interface ] Rating: Very handy, would highly recommend it...Description: The design aim of RatingBuster is to provide detailed, meaningful and customizable information about items so you can easily decide for yourself which item is better. Be sure to go into this with /rb gui and set it up. If you have favorite gems, put them into the slots for it so you can see what effect it has. A serious MUST HAVE! PITBULL [ Curse ] Unit frames that are highly customizable. There are many addons like this one, so pick your favorite. DO NOT use the standard blizzard frames. Ugh. GFW Linkerator [ GFW ] Lets you type into chat those [item name] things you see. If you've seen the item in chat or otherwise, you can link it. Last but not least: ADDON CONTROL PANEL [ Curse ] Why logout to change addons? This adds a button when you press ESC for Addons. In here you can change which items are loading, remove items from loading and reload your UI easily. |
