Man the Shamans are ticked off today

Check out their forums, guess another nerf is about to happen. Topics are getting deleted like crazy, there were topics full of just dot type post all over.

Re: Man the Shamans are ticked off today

I was a raiding shaman, but these changes are specifically for PvP. I recently quit playing my shaman and went back to my Lock. The time I played a shaman there were nerfs in every single patch, most of which weren't listed in the patch notes. I got sick of the shaman class really quickly.

2.3 Nerf (once again not in patch notes):
Diminishing returns on Earth Shock an interupt spell that locks a player from casting that school of magic for 1.5 seconds. Earth Shock has a 6 second untalented or 5 second talented cooldown.

While they said there won't be diminishing returns on Frost Shock, they added diminishing returns on Earth Shock. Test shaman said after the third interupt they get the dreaded "IMMUNE" message. This really hits the Arena PvP enhancement shaman hard. As if they already weren't easy enough to kill for nearly every other class.

Wouldn't surprise me if they add a diminishing return to Purge one of the only useful spells for shaman in PvP left.

I have a 70 Lock and a 70 Shaman. My Lock is now my main because the Blizzard devs are either incompetent or completely HATE the Shaman class.

I would LOVE to play my Shaman because I love the class but Blizzard refuses to make the class viable.

Shaman have no CC, mana regen issues, no escape mechanism, questionable raid utility and a totem system that is archaic compared to the blessings of a Paladin.

In PvP Shaman are a walking HK. Elementals struggle with mana and lack of burst and Enhancement is crippled by any form of escapability or a way to close distance on an opponent.

Resto is the one true saving grace. It's amazing for PvE but useless for PvP as your Earth Shield is dispelled faster than you can cast it.

Blizzard has destroyed that class and despite months of viable accurate feedback they continue to "tweak" the playability out of it. Even last week on the European Shaman forum a GM finally was forced to admit that their math was wrong. Did they fix the change? What do you think?

uhh...okay? what does that have to do with the idea that warlocks get a nerf every patch also, which is what i was referring to?

The OP wanted to know what was going on with the Shaman players and why they were so up in arms. You seem to think that the Warlock class has been hit hard but I can tell you from experience it pales in comparison to what's been done to the Shaman class. Their class has been hit twice as hard as the Warlock class when it comes to nerfs. The WF adjustment crushed their ability to be competitive in the Enhancement tree and the 2.3 patch is going to hit Elemental somewhere in the area of a 15% damage reduction.

If we as warlocks took a 15% damage reduction to Shadowbolts (don't forget Shaman only have LB's and Shocks) this community would go BONKERS!

My point is that your reference on how badly Locks have been nerfed is very limited. A LONG time ago Locks were in the same position and got some massive upgrades and tweaks. Now all 3 trees are viable.

Try leveling a Shaman to 70, do some raiding then some PvP then you tell me.

holy crap people, stop being so freakin touchy. i never said locks had it worse than any one else. and to be honest I don't particularly care if a shammy gets nerfed more than a lock does. furthermore, even if shammies did get a nerf that is worse than locks get, it doesnt mean the lock nerf would be any better...its STILL a nerf.

I was simply pointing out that locks get a lot of nerfs also, in response to kurmit (the poster I was responding too) saying that he plays a lock now because shammies get a nerf every patch. if, however, you wish to refer to my comment as if it had been aimed at or in response to, the original post of this thread, by all means have at it! it looks like you are enjoying your outrage.

My apologies on the excess emotion and somewhat hostile tone. I guess the bottom line is that there a lot of people that are very upset because they love the Shaman class but Blizzard is just killing it. It's been going on for a LONG time and supposedly 2.3 was supposed to have a lot of Shaman fixes in it.

The situation devolved primarily because Eyonix had come to the Shaman forums 2 months ago to tell everyone just how great 2.3 was going to be for their class. Once the math heads and theory crafters got done with it and tested it on the PTR it proved to be just the opposite. Ironically, Eyonix has been noticably absent.

No worries though, I'm having a blast melting people
