combat sword/mace
My rog is level 36. So far I tend to use a sword in main hand and mace in the other and been thinking of putting 4 points into mace/swords.
I see a lot of rogues with 2 of each style of weapon...IE..using 2 daggers..or 2maces..or 2 swords...why? If I have a main hand sword and off hand mace with the points, seems that would be better. can someone explain why having 2 of the same style is better than mixing it up? |

Re: combat sword/mace
My rogue is sword spec. 5/5 gains the change of an extra swing in main hand. Maces and daggers I think are crit change upped 5%. So if you have 2 swords like me that is double the chance of your talent spec procing. For Swords its white damage that triggers it. It can proc with either hand.
I could be wrong but thats how it was explained to me. Some use sword in off hand speced for sword with a "higher damage" main hand like fist weapon from Kara used to be pouplar for a while. |

Re: combat sword/mace
Like Evilums said, 5/5 sword spec is double chance of extra swing, 5/5 mace and 2 maces are double chance of mace stun

Re: combat sword/mace
with no weaponspecc its still smart to wear a dagger in the offhand, because it hits faster therefore the poisons stack faster. this can add some advances in some cases (not using shiv with crippling poison for example).
on leveling you cant choose weapons for your rogue anyway, you have to pick up what the goods of droprate or questsrewards give them to you usually. as long as you dont do things like sinister strike with daggers, or try to ambush with a sword in the main - everything will work fine if your specc fits with your weapon (meaning weaponspec also, which is often an endgame question only). |
