Please rogues, learn to blind

My old rogue had a hard time getting this blinding mats and I realy decided to use it wisely and carefully - a good stunlock needed to work without it.

Today when a rogue jumps on my leveling lock, the pop blind realy soon and just panicly because they dont know what to do. there is simply no plan or strategie behind their blind, because they dont need to use it carefully as the old rogues use to do which knew how expensive it used to be.

please dont abuse the rogueclass with your noobish usage of your blind. learn to do stunlocks without it, and then carefully add it. it still has a 5 min unskilled cooldown.

While I agree with the "rant" part of your statement, you have seen it's on the rogue forum, right?

Re: Please rogues, learn to blind

I am posting here because in the rogueforums your generally talking to rogue mains, here you catch rogue twinks and alts, which ask questions like "what to wear in the mainhand", stuff like that. so my intention is to show them something about blind. there is (hopyfully) no need to tell that some experienced rogue-player.

and i registered here to keep my lock informed.

Don't abuse the rogue class with your noobish use of blind?

Oh no, instead please freel free to use Shadowstep, CloS, random emotes....shall I keep going?

No offence, but don't state your intention to show "us" something about blind and stunlocks without elaborating in any detail - I have 120 days played on my rogue and I'm quite happy to learn something new should you have something to share.

Re: Please rogues, learn to blind

I used blind liberally even when it required blind powder (kept 3 stacks on me at all times when I was pvping). Basically it's my "oh shit, they trinketed the KS and I have no other cooldowns. Here, walk in circles for ten seconds!" button.

I'm really happy that it's a physical effect now.. can't be dispelled =D

Re: Please rogues, learn to blind

The mechanics have changed slightly due to no mats being required; I don't see how liberal use of blind that might differ from how you use it makes one a noob. Stun locks need to last longer than they did back in the day because STAM got reworked in The Burning Crusade as well as resillience being a factor.

And, was getting blinding powder really so difficult to warrant 'back in my day it was hard mode?'

Just leveling with a pickpocket macro and you'd have more than you can get rid of (still have about eight stacks of it in my bank >.<) It really wasn't hard to get.

Re: Please rogues, learn to blind

@Cynic: Back in the day you couldn't get fadeleaf/blinding powder from pick pocketing. It was either be an herbalist or buy it on the AH. So yes, it was kind of expensive/hard to get.

Pre-BC, blind was IMO the most powerful rogue cooldown. Yes, more powerful than sprint, more powerful than coldblood, etc (ok maybe not preparation, but I digress). Properly used (to get extra openers, to bandage, to wait out a frost nova when vanish is down and you're not a gnome, etc), blind can be truly devastating.

I do agree with the OP that a proper stunlock doesn't include blind, blind is more of a "reset" button that allows you to re-initiate a new stunlock. However I think the OP could be more helpful than saying "don't be a noob"

Re: Please rogues, learn to blind

ok sorry it wasnt my intention to flame someone who playes a rogue alt.
here a some example from the view of my lock about how new rogues <60 use their blind

rogue says hello -> stealth -> cheapshot -> blind

rogues hits with ambush -> spams sinister strike -> blind

this is the best: rogue unmounts -> stealth -> blind

watching such things just hurt.
not a single rogue jumping on me used a gouge or kidney. and i think its because of blind needs no reagent anymore which is fantastic for endgame pvp but not for learning how to play a rogue.

and because of res and stam is realy high today doenst mean that you dont chain your cc today.
