Shaman: Shammie Question

My first thread and it's not even for me, lol. I would look at other places for this information, but I rely solely on the infinite (and reliable) wisdom of the Warlock's Den for everything WoW. My boyfriend has a level 70 Elemental Shaman and he's currently trying to gear up for Kara. His name is Meladolus on Daggerspine US if you'd like to look at his armory.

We were having a conversation about gear. My question is this, is +spell hit or +spell crit more important when making gear decisions?

Any and all opinions are welcome!

+ spell hit is he is element.
+ crit if he is resto. all he need is +30 spell hit and the rest to crit for chances to crit healing.

not entirly true, depending on spec an elemental shaman already gets +6%/+9% hit from talents alone, with another +3% for wrath totem.

that gives you the potentinol of +12% spell hit with 0+hit rating on gear, considering the cap is 16% in pre kara gearing spell hit is not that critically important (but it is for SCC/TK and onwards)

elemental shamans want to load up on +crit and +damage, they ideally want 30%ish spell crit on LB/CL (+11% from talents, +14% with totem)
this lets them chain crit like mad, keeping clearcasting up as much as possible.
other than that loading up spell damage of course.

a good starter for elemental shaman is the season 1 pvp gear, because they need to rely on +hit a lot less (due to talents) and the 4 set bonus of 70% pushback immunity on LB/CL is just awesome.

of course this is aimed at kara, once you start going beyond they'll need to be spell hit capped just like everyone else.
