Question Blacksmithing: Who uses mail BOP stuff?

Who uses or benefits from blacksmithing's BOP mail pieces?

My warrior(tank) friend asked me about it, so I turned to my girlfriend who plays a shaman and a hunter. On the hunter and shaman, she is doing LW, and is playing a DPS spec on her shaman.

Are the mail BOP pieces intended for Pally/Warrior DPS sets? It was pointed out that LW gives you the kits and such over BS.

Re: Blacksmithing: Who uses mail BOP stuff?

in all honesty I found BSing to be more useless then Eng. the crafted epic weapons are surpassed by raid / badge gear. and the crafted epic armor aren't really that hot. coupled with the costly lvling... yea it's not that great

I know most of my guildies has dropped BS on their main in favour of something else ( enchant / gathering profession )

in terms of LW vs BS for shammy (dps both spec) and hunters. LW is better...

all that said if I remembered correctly some of the 1H bop weapons are quite nice for a duel wielding shammy... that is if you're strict about following the 2.5 or greater weapon speed rule. DW shammy has it rough in the weapons department.

i'm not sure if that answers your question... apology if it doesn't =p

I don't know of anyone that uses the BS BoP mail. Anyone that can wear mail picks up LW as its far superior.....a lot of the guild alts we have actually use both LW/BS for their shamans so money is no object for weapons/armour as soon as they hit 70....but no, not the BS Mail.

Ah, that's exactly what we thought. I don't know much of anything about melee stuff, so when looking up the items, the stats like str/ap/etc. roll right over me basically. The three of us combined came to the conclusion that for a mail-wearer, LW was definitely better.
