Compiled List of changes coming for Hunters in WotLK

As I have mentioned in the past, Hunters are my equal favorite class in WoW. It's also the class I happen to be playing at the moment. Because I just don't have the time to go googling and scouring other websites (and wouldn't you all prefer I spend my time updating this one *grin*), I'm asking for the assistance of those with the time to help out.

Looking for any and all info on the upcoming changes for Hunters in Wrath of the Lich King.

Re: No pet Scaling in Wotlk???

Allow me to give you further material for your perusal..

MMO-Champion - World of Warcraft Guides and Raid Strategies

Hunter
  • All kind of pets will have their own talent tree. A tanking talent tree, a DPS talent tree, and an utility talent tree. Each kind of pet family will have its own talent tree and its own unique ability.
  • The shot clipping will be removed from Steady Shot, you'll be able to use it without "interrupting" your autoshot. Hunters will be able to just smash their button.
  • There are going to be new pets in Wrath of the Lich King.
  • The skill points for each pets are being changed to the new "Pet talents" and will disappear.

So, am I reading that right? The Pet will have it's own talent trees separate to the Hunter talent trees?

Pets have their own talent tree already. It's called Beast Mastery

Sorry couldn't resist. Hmm, then really, really, demons should get their own trees too.

Warlock Demon Training:

exciting new (did I say new?) abilities for your favorite demons!

  • Attack - with one simple click your demon will feign a movement towards your enemy, only to glitch a little and hop faithfully by your side once more.
  • Stay - Just like attack!... but without the pesky jerky walk animation.
  • Follow - sometimes it will, sometimes it won't! Trees and terrain prove to be more than a match from your demon from the nether! The chaotic world of the warlock, ladies and gentlemen!

Demon specific abilities!
  • Same old 3 things per demon, k?

Must.. Be. Less... sarcastic. If I... Can just. Reach... Switch...

Re: No pet Scaling in Wotlk???

*smacks Vaell*

If that's the case then, each of our Minions should have their own talent trees too! Or hell, even one tree per Pet!

Sorry, but LOL. Smack? Really? LOL

Ok, I'll stop laughing at Smack now pmsl

*sees the word Snatch and spits coke all over the monitor* Ok, lol, seriously. You can 'pin' the target, hit the 'snatch', give em a bit of a 'smack' and all with a 'bad attitude'. Who was drinking at Blizzard that night?

And after seeing what Hunters get, then by god yes Warlock pets should scale!

Oops, didn't realise you'd moved the thread. Disregard demon comments as you see fit.

RE: Smack and Snatch - it could have been worse. They could have named the talents after an intravenously taken opiate narcotic and a colloquial term for a ladies unmentionables.

Oh...!

Hmm I've had one smack already. I'd better go!

Re: Compiled List of changes coming for Hunters in WotLK

I'm playing my hunter more than anything right now as well. I really hope they do something with the pet family bonuses. Seperate talent trees will be fun and all but if cats/ravagers/raptors have the passive DPS boost over the other families they will still be way over represented as a whole with most hunters.

Although the only real way to do this would be to normalize all pets and every boost only comes from talents.

(I broke down and leveled a cat to get prowl - if we get the alpha spell Camoflauge it will be nice for coming out of 'stealth' with an aimed shot and angry kitteh!)

Re: Compiled List of changes coming for Hunters in WotLK

I have also been playing my hunter more lately. Got three of the pvp pieces for a minor upgrade to my gear, and am into revered with shattered sun as well. Two of my pets are level 70, but my third is a cat I picked up in Winterspring after abandoning my other level 70 cat (I like the look of the new one more), but unfortunately he is only level 60 . I have no idea how to level him up, as he seems to not get xp against same level mobs (undead in plaguelands for example). Anyone have any ideas? If I can't level him up, I will just wait until WoLK comes out and perhaps a new cat will be available?

The changes to hunter pets look nice, I am hoping they keep most of them at launch before the impending nerf hunters pets crying begins .
