I need some help deciding where to play
Hi guys, I have a bit of a dilema. I have just returned from a year's break from WoW. Before I left, I was playing on a PVP server. Now normally PVP is not really my style, but a good RL friend was playing on there, and I joined a guild of really great people. On that server I have a 62 warlock, and a 60 rogue. Unfortunately, my friend has since quit playing WoW, and I can't locate anyone from my old guild.
I have some other characters on a PVE server that I was on before I joined the PVP server above, and I have a 61 hunter, a 44 mage, and a 27 priest on this PVE server. My dilema is I don't know where to devote my limited WoW time. I really hate getting ganked on the PVP server, but I'm not sure if I have the patience right now to level up another lock. Am I having a string of bad luck in Hellfire Peninsula, or is world PVP quite prevalent in Outlands? I guess that's my main concern. Also, when I get to 70, are the dailies for each faction seperated, or will I possibly have to deal with gankers durring that? Help! Kimbelmi Last edited by Kimbelmi; July 17, 2008 at 01:36 PM. |

The most popular dalies are in Quel'Danas and are shared Ally/Horde, so yeah, you'll deal with Allies. Sometimes there will be large groups of the opposite faction just going around ganking during dalies. So it will continue to be a problem on a PvP server. I normally group with at least one other person to do mine, so that people think twice before messing with us.
It will continue to be a problem questing and doing dalies. |

Re: I need some help deciding where to play (long)
I recently rerolled from a PVE to PVP server and I didn't run into many problems with getting ganked in Outlands. However, my server is horde heavy so I guess there was some safety in numbers. If your side is outnumbered or if you do find that you're having a lot of issues with getting attacked then I can see this being quite frustrating.
As for the dailies - The Isle can get pretty nasty, I know I have to deal with roving bands of alliance killing me repeatedly some days. When that happens I just go elsewhere. I've really never had an issue with the other dailies, seems that most of the alliance I run into are more interested in completing the quest and getting their gold like me. If you're really set on playing your lock (can't blame you there!) then you do have the option to transfer it to another server, either a PVE server or a PVP one where your faction isn't in the minority. It does cost $25 but I think the fee is worth it if it will really increase your enjoyment of the game. Short version - play the class you like the most, server is easily changed. |

Thanks for the replies guys. A server change is not really an option for me, because my PVP charcters are alliance, and my PVE characters are horde. Also, I have a hard time justifying paying $25 for something like that. I figure my $15 a month is enough to spend on WoW.

If it were up to me, i would change my ally PvP warlock to Ner'zhul, why? Seems like a big nice advanced realm dominated by alliance, it's in bloodlust and more important, it was the realm of Kralnor ![]() |
