Hunter: Exotic Pet: Worm

The Worm family currently has the following special ability:

Acid Spit (Rank 6)
40 Focus 30 yd range
Instant 20 sec cooldown
Your worm spits acid at an enemy, causing 48 to 66 Nature damage and reducing its armor for 30 sec.

Not included in the tooltip is the fact that it stacks up to 3 times.

The debuff is physical and so it can not be cleansed or dispelled.

This is arguably one of the strongest pet specials from a raid dps standpoint. While armor will obviously be higher in the expansion, an armor debuff of ~2100 at level 80 is going to be very strong.

The issue I see, from a PvE perspective, is that the Worm family is Tenacity not Ferocity. So this raid dps increase comes at the cost of the hunter's personal DPS. It's unfortunate that that trade off has to be made, especially considering a hunter who specs BM (currently) does so because it's the highest raid dps spec.

From a PvP standpoint, I expect that this will be a favorite of BM PvP hunters. The combination of the tenacity tree plus this strong armor debuff appears to be a good combo at first glance.

Just looked at Petopia. It's a work in progress over there, but it looks like the silithids hunters can train are the ones that look most like ravagers. Too bad, the wasps might have been nice or those beetle types that have their own little beetle minions.

My hunter is my 'close second' main and there is no way a worm happens in my lifetime!

I had a cat for pure dps, but with Wrath it's all wolves all the time. Goes nicely with my black war wolf and worg pup.
