Is there anything they can't do?
So its been a few weeks of playing Dk's on live and I have to say, they are freaking awesome. They have an ability for everything. No mob or class or quest can present a problem a Death Knight can't easily solve. Let's see: Multiple Dots Multiple and awesome AOE abilities Multiple health regeneration abilities Multiple damage reduction abilities Multiple instant cast long and short range nukes Multiple "unblockable, undodgeable" abilites Multiple "Oh #*&%" buttons Crazy Debuffs No mana issues Pets/Minions Close and long range silences/interrupts. Duel wielding Plate wearing Ability to use many weapons Ability to be immune to stun Ability to stun others Ability to be immune to fear Free unique weapon "chants" Free Ruin Free hearth Free mount So many good glyphs its actually hard to choose Army of the Dead, so win Who knows what else I'm forgetting. Plus they look awesome and have the best storyline of any class. Reanimated Dark Arts practitioners, twice betrayers of both the living and the dead. Come on, so awesome. I'm asking myself how could you not play a Death Knight. I'm rolling through Northrend at level 68 in greens almost as fast as I did with my T6 geared lock and seeing zero weaknesses. Level 80 DK's in my guild are near the top of raid dps and they can tank at the click of a button. I can't wait to pvp with mine (Female Troll). I'm seriously wondering what class will be able to stop them. Anyone who has leveled to 80 and done some difficult pve or pvp have any problems? What sucks about Death Knights? What can't they do? |

I agree on almost every point...I love my DK but they still really lack glyph options. As blood there are very few raid dps glyphs that are useful. We lack the major dps boosters of the other trees and of some other classes from glyphs...WTB heartstrike glyph :P |

They can't wear Warlock T5 shoulders.  Apart from that I'm having a blast with mine too. 72 at the moment and catching my warlock fast. Unholy plays like affliction in so many ways but instead of having to mass fear them, you just death strike them to heal up. You don't even have to tab and dot! Just focus one and it spreads. I usually round up about 4 mob, D&D them and get stuck in, and if a couple or more get pulled as they pass, all the better. If I get a bit low on HP I just single out a couple of individual mob pulls and leech off them till my health has crept up. I'd love spreadable dots for the warlock actually, and I think there were some ideas floating around while wrath was in development about spreadable dots but we didn't get them. Ah well, it makes the DK more unique I suppose. To answer the original question: Is there anything they can't do? Answer: they can't expect not to be nerfed at some point. *** Information added 14 Minutes and 9 Seconds later... *** Oh by the way Koldfeat any reason why you didn't post this in the DK specific area? I was going to relocate it but then thought you might not be signed up there. Had a cursory look at that section but couldn't find a post by you so I didn't want to hide your own thread from you! Other than that I guess if you wanted non DK users to see and contribute it's a good enough reason to have it in the general other class discussion. It still fits here. If you're signed up there though I'll probably move it over. Let me know thanks.

They can't catch a good hunter. Hunters have lots of ways to get out of their way and kite them around. |

What disturbs me is that my level 80 warlock got owned by a level 72 DK over the weekend. I went back to face him and it took everything I had, including Demo Form, to kill him. He still got me afterwords with his ghoul form when he died. But atleast he also had to grave walk.

I dueled a level 75 DK while I was level 75 and the result was I lost but he was at 3% with 3 dots on him. At the moment I use the SL/FG spec. I couldn't get a fear to land on him or it would have been a completely different result. I was both happy and sad at the same time considering I haven't pvp'd in more than 8 months. Anyway, I love both my warlock and my level 60 DK. |

They can't tank anything above regular Utgarde Pinnacle. You haven't seen owned until you've seen a level 80 Frost Death Knight, fully defense capped, getting blown to smithereens. It's nearly laughable. The best was that we were short a tank for Patchwerk one night. They seem nice now, but all-in-all they are getting eaten on the meters, Unholy deaths count as two (so most don't spec it as they blow all of their money on repairs) Frost is near useless and Blood DPS is overrated. They are still getting owned by equally geared almost everything. |

If you wanted to join the DK group at the Den you can do so through User CP > Group Memberships and have access to that area. Some Warlocks were keen not to have that content on the front page, which is understandable, so it's a little area for people with DK alts who can chat away without getting in the way of the others. Akasha put a notice up on it but I'll mention it again in case anyone missed it. Cheers.
