holy priest raid healing
Hi guys I have rolled a priest that only went to kara a couple of times (and that was post-patch). Now I have hit 80, got some nice heroic/badge gear and am looking to move into Naxx - done it a couple of times. The question I have is... when I target a raid member in a different group and cast Prayer of healing their health doesnt seem to be altering, or that of their party (maybe some are out of range, but still). Initially I put this down to aoe damage but it seems to happen a lot.. is it just that I look at the wrong time? or is this the wrong strategy? Thanks for ideas |

Prayer of healing only heals YOUR party, silly  Circle of healing is the one you're thinking of, which heals the target and 5 members around the target. |

Yep, Circle of Healing's the ability you want there -- it's the spell that will heal several targets, and which isn't limited to our party. Circle of Healing affects 5 (or 6, if it's glyphed) *raid* members, and it's a smart heal so it will actually just heal the folks with the lowest health that are in that area. Our other group heals -- such as Prayer of Healing or Holy Nova -- only affect people in our current party. Just as as side-note: Prayer of Mending will also bounce between *raid* members, so if there's a lot of raid damage that's an amazing spell. Cast it, forget about it (until the cooldown is up, anyway) and watch it bounce around healing folks -- freeing you to concentate on those folks who are really in need of help.

Just to note - they did change Prayer of Healing so that if you target a member outside of your party, you will heal them and the other 4 members in their party. Yay for that! |
