What do you think of the new druid forms/art?

Unless you've been living under a rock, or you don't play a druid - new looks for our forms are coming! Cat and Bear forms for both Tauren and Night Elf will be released in the next major patch, 3.2 - Call of the Crusade. Night Elfs will have their look dictated by their hair color while Tauren will have theirs dictated by their skin color. Personally, I'm disappointed with this mechanic but, it remains to be seen how it'll all work out. Heres a quick look at the already released forms; will be updated as they are released:

Tauren Bear Forms:

Tauren Cat Forms:

Night Elf Cat Forms:

Night Elf Bear Forms
:

Night Elf Cat Forms are to be released later this week.

That said, what do you guys think? I'm hella glad I rolled Tauren Druid cause I think Night Elfs got the short straw when it comes to their forms.

I like the new look of the kitty's. Kinda glad I went with the darker colors now. I would like to see the changes to our flight form.

First off, thanks for posting the cat pics. I'd seen the Bear forms but this is the first I've seen for the cats. I agree with you that the Tauren ones look better, but I don't think the Night Elf ones are that bad. I expect we'll see a lot of black skinned druids popping up, as is to be expected. I actually kinda like the white and brown ones though, but I refuse to make an albino druid.

I think it's about time!

They look pretty good to me. At the very least, it's a step in the right direction. They will be looking to add the ability to have armor also alter the look of the shifted druid. Also coming later will be customized moonkin and treeform druids.

I know about the redo to Tree and Boomkin but, where is the post about armor? People have been bitching about this on the forums for years and I've yet to see a blue post addressing this.

It should be noted that, although these pics show it, bears will no longer have their mouths open all the time; only to roar. The teethy grin of the cat isn't great but, I'll take it over that Wyvern / lion abomination we had any day.

I like it alot! I have a female feral druid because you just don't see alot of female druids around, at least not on my server anyways. I always thought they were very vanilla looking when in the druid forms. I like how they will actully look a little different, color wise that is.

Now if they will only fix the elevator in UC so I can stop falling to my death on my druid!

Re: What do you think of the new druid forms/art?

Since i play a druid as well I'm very happy with the new forms for both bear and cat.

and Garagos, no you do not need to level your skill for the attack power. you get feral attack power based off the weapon dps and not off needing to have weapon skill

Re: What do you think of the new druid forms/art?

There appears to be confusion as to weather or not Blizzard is doing more forms than just the Bear and Cat.
Quote:
In our next major content patch, druids will find a host of new textures for two major forms, cat and bear.
Quote:
Work continues on new looks for the remaining druid forms and we hope to add them in future content patches.
The argument for the second quote was that they had only posted the Tauren bear form at the time so they must be referring to the remaining bear and cat forms. They obviously didn't read the first quote clearly enough. If Bear and Cat are in the next major content patch, then the forms they're talking about for future content patches must be other Druid forms.

Hope that clears things up for anyone that might have been confused.
