Enhance shaman vs rogue

Well i'm trying to decide if i should level my rogue or my enhance shaman to 80. They are both level 39 and i really have no idea what to pick. I want to hear your reasons why you would pick a enhance shaman or rogue. I want to try a melee class so i dont really want to go elemental for the shaman.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Enhance shaman vs rogue

Depends on what you want to do at 80, PVP, raiding, grinding for gold, etc. Well, in terms of leveling speed, I think Rogue will level you faster but the gap isn't nearly what it used to be. One of the key benefits is being able to stealth past unnecessary targets to complete quests faster. Your dps in Raiding at 80 will probably be better, at first, with Rogue, before you can find enough suitable enhancement suitable Shaman gear. At PVP, rogues are a lot better right now and can team up with a lot of classes for some very work. BG's are so much easier with stealth. So my answer is..Rogue.

Re: Enhance shaman vs rogue

i prefer shammy purely because i'm lazy and cheap. bandages vendor for more then then the price of food and water that drops off mobs so because I can heal myself at any given movement... it's a win win imo

having said that yea rogue can stealth... it's pretty fun mechanic tbh

Bignrslock has a point, you really need to decide what you're going to do at the endgame or at least have some idea. a shammy is more versitile since they can range / melee dps or heal. rogues is a pure class so their one and only role is dps.

Re: Enhance shaman vs rogue

The great advantage that the enhancement shaman has is flexibility. Whilst you may not be a match for an equally geared rogue played with equal skill in DPS terms, I've lost count of the number of wipes I've prevented by being able to drop an emergency instant heal on the tank or other key people. It's worth noting that the difference in raw DPS between the classes is small compared to the differences in skill and gear between different players, so you'll struggle to notice it unless you're in a top raiding guild.

Also, if you need to you can dual-spec resto, which makes finding PUGs pretty easy.

For me, the answer is shaman, because I value the flexibility.

Edit: oops - forgot to look at how old this thread was!
