How you fight hunters now?
Heyas, Just wondering, since a beast hunter can make his pet immune to fear for 18secs. How you deal with this ? I always have had a big time against hunters cause of their pets (keep interrupting) and now they're immune to fear which is even more a pain. What's your strategy ? trep |

Curse of Weakness+siphon Life Get in range of deadzone and **** them up, keep close combat with them and don't get them get in range to shoot you. With curse of weakness you'll take less damage(not a lot but still less damage is more hp+siphon life both on hunter) you won't have too much problem. Just don't fight a hunter drunk, I did. I lost did everything wrong, I put Curse of Recklessness on him and tried to shadowbolt. I died just don't fight drunk.

Re: How you fight hunters now?
im about to respect to affliction, but what i woudl do is just cast all instant dots on hunter while running at him and also cast siphon life on the pet. then just stay close so he cant shoot you, while your dots tick away |

Re: How you fight hunters now?
Basically, hope that he isnt good. IF a decent hunter gets the drop on you, Id say your chances of coming out ahead arent real great, assuming approximately equal gear. And thinking about it, I think the speccing for Felguard might give you the best shot against a Hunter. An intercept should give you enough time to get to the dead zone and at that point its not too bad, long as he doesnt pop BW/TBW. But if a good hunter gets the drop on you at his max range and uses his pet and skills intelligently, youre most likely running to your corpse.

why not cast corruption on the tiger to double your chances for nightfall? as well as siphon life and CoW?

Re: How you fight hunters now?
Why would anyone ever siphon life against a hunter??????Even though your curse of weakness lowers the pets damage you still get interupted every second.Unless you can hold them in place as a mage you can't stay in their deadzone for very long.Typically a hunter will silencing shot which you can do nothing to avoid followed by a scatter shot. Typically they would have me to about 60% with a crit or two and I probably already applied a dot or two on him at the fights beginning. I would then immo conflag immo deathcoil pop my ephemeral power trinket shadowbolt immo conflag shadowburn DEADI usually have enough health to survive the attacking during this sequence. Sometimes you can really throw them off if your in range when they are are about to scatter shot start with deathcoil corruption fear off deathcoil curse of agony immo conflag immo etcAll it takes to kill them with this sequence and avoid all the anti-caster gayness is one good crit to put you over the top.Kirkyg |

Re: How you fight hunters now?
I've been dealing with alot of hunters lately. The basic strat is to stay close to them. Run right towards them. Ignore the pet, Idon't waste you global cool down with SL on the pet. If your affliction, just apply your dots (if you see them first, apply 4 dots). Get in range and then depending what cool owns are up you can Deathcoil and Instant howl. If you have both these CDs up you can pretty much control the fight. If netierh are up you can still win, it's just tough and depends on gear and skill. With undergeared hunters, DoTs + close range + drain life = win. With equaly geared hunters, DoTs + howl + drain = win. With better geared hunters, DoTs + howl + coil + healthstone = win. Usually you don't need everything to kill hunter. If they get some lucky crits you might be in trouble though. If the hunter is new to PvP, getting in range really puts them into panic mode. A good hunter will distract / wing clip and get away from you. Regardless your dots will kill them after they kill you if they get lucky. Advice: run at them and do whatever feels right. With practice you'll figure out what works best. If they're red, don't waste your howl. |

Re: How you fight hunters now?
As a Demo lock I have no problems with hunters now with my Felguard. I did at the beginnng cuz I didn't know what to do (tried fearing the pet, over and over while I was being shot from a distance). Now, I cast Curse of Agony, Corruption and put Felguard on hunter. If I have Death coil, I use that against hunter only and this usually bys you some time to get even closer to the hunter. If you have a healthstone and you are 50% health USE IT, as most hunters get some nice crits, and you can wind up dead in 4 seconds. You will usually see the hunter try and run from you as most hunters are not use to melee up close. So you use their weakness against them. Get up close and personal with them. Sure they will distract shot and you will usually walk around helplessly for a few seconds while the pet whales on you. But with the felguard beating on the hunter along with your DoTs, they will usually die before you. |
