Re: Does Warlock get any better at higher levels?
I was getting the impression that you're mostly talking about world PvP, and not battlegrounds/arena. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm only level 49 now, but I can't imagine world pvp being much easier than it is with my mostly-affliction warlock. If I get the jump on nearly anyone within a few levels of me I can generally take them out without ever being hit. If they get the jump on me I still stand a good chance, unless I'm using the felhunter. That may just be because I don't know how to use it. It's been sound advice from others so far (but what do I know?). I do disagree about the VW being useless in PvP though. Okay, useless in battlegrounds, yes, but I grind with my VW all the time--especially if I want to pull something 3-5 levels higher than myself (been doing it a lot lately in Un'Goro) or when fighting multiple mobs (think those stupid escorting chicken quests). My VW is my best buddy. So if horde gets the jump on me while I'm grinding I usually ignore whatever mob I'm fighting, since it generally already has plenty of dots to finish it off, and I sacrifice my VW almost immediately. I then cast my fear or deathcoil, hit up all my dots and drain life, reapplying fear as needed. If fear breaks I slap on CoEx or CoT if it's a caster. Either of those and I'm golden because I've already hit at least 3 instant dots and probably got my immolate on already too. Then I can kite, drain, bolt, or even wand them to death. Heck, sometimes I can just stand there and watch them die. Being able to defend yourself in the world versus those who jump you when you are grinding is a wonderful thing. It takes some practice, but it's so much fun when you know that they had a huge upper hand and still couldn't beat you. I don't have a ton of battleground experience, but I'm dealing with horde in the field more and more every day, and I'm losing less and less. |

Re: Does Warlock get any better at higher levels?
I found that even at lower levels rogues were cake for me. My biggest problems were enhance shammies until I started getting the instant fears (deathcoil, Imp HoT). For them I would have to spam searing pain until they locked up my fire tree with earthshock, then I would fear them off to kill them. For rogues, I find it is easiest to just lay down a seduce the instant they get that first stun off. If you're lucky, you can get your PvP trinket at an early level to further help with the stuns. As for PvE, invest a few point in Improved Life Tap. It makes things a lot easier and in a lot of cases you can cannibalize the corpse afterwards to regain your health |
