Amusing Paladin Encounter

My partner and I were doing some AB's today, and we came across a paladin who had us both laughing for almost the entire battle. I had to share it here.

For some reason, this paladin would freak out whenever a single dot was put on him (even if he was at full health) and instantly bubble. We took turns putting a single dot on him, waiting for him to bubble (so long as the cooldown was met he never failed to do it) and then kill him. Rinse and repeat as many times as possible.

You'd think he might have twigged to what was happening, but apparently not. Kept us both entertained for 15 minutes

Re: Amusing Paladin Encounter

Man, Paladins in their current state are extremely difficult classes for Affliction locks to beat.

Since we have very little direct damage, and all of our instant casts are DoT's, if a decently geared 60 paladin has all his cooldowns up, I'm at a loss as to how to beat one in a level fight.

You burn half your mana bar lighting them up with DoT's only to have them blow their god bubble and remove everything including Unstable Affliction, at which point they Hammer of Justice you, LoH and then beat you down...

If you're lucky you get a fear off, which they trinket out of, then they go fear proof and it's game over.

Felhunter can't eat their god bubble...In fact, the only way we even have a shot at these guys is if they wait until their final 1/3rd health and we can get a spell lock, deathcoil, fear going.

Re: Amusing Paladin Encounter

if I have any pet but a Felhunter out, Pallies are tough.

With my Fel out though, they're not too bad.

CoT to nerf their heals (or CoEx if they are with the Flag runner in WSG)

Devour magic to eat their stuns (crucial, imho)

UA to seal their fate

Two Paladins fighting? That fight will never end. Not unless one of them disconnects

Yeah, I watched two level 10 paladin's dueling in goldshire....if something can be both funny and boring at the same time, that was it.

Re: Amusing Paladin Encounter

^^ LOL, about as boring as a Pally and a Shammy going at it. I saw a video not too long ago with this happening. I swear the fight was well over 10 minutes long (I kid you not) and I think the only way it ended was the shammy fell off a ledge or something or possibly DC'd. I will see if I can dig it up for you guys. Its rather humorous.

Re: Amusing Paladin Encounter

Hehe I had a long fight with a druid once. I was demo specced at the time, and had in the previous fight feldom'ed a VW for the bubble so I could live a bit longer for a flag cap.

Being shard-consious, I ran with it for a while. ended up guarding the farm, and parked him in the building there.

A (assumed feral) druid snuck up on me, and it was on. I dotted him up and ran, and feared, and yadda... it took quite a long time. healthstone, pot, and bubble later I could almost hear him bang his head.

I was just about to finnish him off when help arrived, so I can't claim the kill but man it was a fun fight.
