How do you beat a Warrior?

Just wondering as I really try to avoid fights with a Warrior (PVP of course). How do you guys beat them? To me they are very hard....undead warriors particularily. They half the time are immune to fear and beat the crap out of us clothies....just wanting some input from the best WoW forum in the world ;)

Re: How do you beat a Warrior?

Damn, you got me wondering how you lose to one!
Mainly depends on your spec. I'm nowaday's SM/Ruin and I kite them around.

On their first charge, howl of terror and curse of exhaustion.
Second charge, deathcoil and get some range. (In case they use hamstring, use your trinket now) and badabing, badaboom. Dead warrior.

Re: How do you beat a Warrior?

I dont lose to warriors very often. I had a memorable one a week or so ago, it just seemed like he had infinite health. I couldnt seem to DPS him fast enough, even though i nuked the crap out of him. In any case, that is pretty rare to lose to a warrior. But you have to move move and move some where. Do not stand still very long at all. If you have your blueberry out sac him for the shield and the Warrior is dead meat. Rogues on the other hand.......

Good luck, just practice, you will figure out the spells/combos that work for your style and spec, dont sweat it.

Re: How do you beat a Warrior?

Generally, I try to keep my Felstomper at Intercept range if I get chance, so any Warrior heading my way either gets Intercepted first, or Counter-intercepted towards the end of the stun period so I get chance to cast something.

Curse of Agony/Corr/Shadowburn to start with (I don't mind burning shards) Death Coil and apply Immolate. I'll start to cast Searing Pain and if it doesn't get pumelled - great, I'll spam it. If it does, Fear, Searing Pain and keep close enough to try and avoid another intercept. Drain Life, another Shadowburn and I can generally take down most Warriors 1 on 1 (Lucky hits aside).

I've even taken two at once, but I was lucky enough to be next to the restoration node, with an Adamantite Bomb up my sleeve

Re: How do you beat a Warrior?

It's a little harder with affliction but I think sometimes i forget about CoE :S Especially used with amplify curse i can usually run around and they will die from dots....bottom line is, if they get to me i'm dead meat!

Re: How do you beat a Warrior?

Pray that he does not use Death Wish on you as he becomes immune to fear effects.

Use Death Coil to get him off of you then immediately fear him and dot him. If you have a felguard, you can do some fun things with intercept when you are kiting him--have the felguard stay for 2 secs then click intercept.

Also, spam searing pain when you can.

Be mobile and be fast. That's basically how you win against them.

Re: How do you beat a Warrior?

The worst case scenario is an dual wield warrior with deathwish active.
You don't have the succubus out.
Lets assume he is immune to fear.

Well, as a Gnome Affliction Warlock this is really easy. ;)
With the Insignia/Escape Artist Combo you can remove Harmstring/Piercing Howl/Charge Stun Effect at least two times. After doing this put an amplified CoEx on him and run. Normally this is the GG already ;).
If not: Death Coil does the rest.

Re: How do you beat a Warrior?

ok so this might not work for all classes/builds im currently 27/34/0 "the omg survivablity spec"

For any ranged class the best thing to do against a warrior is flag it for combat. if its in battle stance it can no longer charge, meaning it doesn't get about 15 rage, get right on your ***, and most likely reduce your movement speed. I generally flag with a simple corruption.

next, the warrior is almost undoubtedly going to switch to bezerker stance. This is bad because all of the warriors fear immunity abilities lie in this tree (death wish, Zerker rage) when it pops zerker stance, I deathcoil.

If i am lucky I get it while it intercepts so it gets horrified away from me and it blows its second distance closer.

Now while this has been happening you have been putting up as many dots as possible. taking him from anywhere between 30-50%

this is always enough for me to just drain through and it dies, and it should be enough for an aflliction lock too. but if its not you could always Hot to get him off you again

thats how i beat him but im specced to survive a beating...affliction locks generally arnt

Re: How do you beat a Warrior?

Played both lock and warrior (mainly now), so my experience when fighting locks is that kitting, dotting and FG intercept is very effective against any warrior :P so keep your distance and dot/curse/Deth Coil and so on . . .

Even if i kill the lock the Dots are going ot get me anyways if i dont get healed, or out off combat and eat

But i hope things are going to change a bit after the new trinket patch :D
