Best spec for Battlegrounds?
Hello Warlocks. I am rerolling an UD Lock to raise with my friend, a Resto Druid. I need to choose a spec that goes from 1-70, and is good in BGs. Reason is, I don't want to respec so that I don't have to relearn the class at 70. I really want to go Demonology for this lock (My alliance one was affliction) is demonology good for Battlegrounds and mabe arenas if we do them? Is Destruction any good? As my Affliction lock, I was always top damage but never really "Killed" people, I would always just end up weakening them or they kill me and then they die (Which I belive doesnt give me a KB, not sure) Anyways, it doesn't matter what spec I level as becuase my friend is a resto druid and we are duoing 1-70. All helpfull posts from this awesome site are appreciated. |

oh, and the reason I need it to be good in BGs is that in between leveling, me and my friend like to do BGs a lot and buy rewards with the marks. Plus its something to do when one of us arent able to go online. |

Affliction. great for leveling, great for PvP. Other specs work, though generally lack the damage per mana efficiency tha affliction has, until you have >30 points and/or really good gear. -Gritz |

While the build does seem cool, im not into hybrids much. I prefer 41/x/x or x/41/x or x/x/41. I like the final talents that the 3 trees give, I just can't choose a tree... I'm a fan of the iHot/Ruin spec. Check my current build for details <--. I used to be all affliction, but in BGs, I find that in a heated battle (or while running away), sometimes it's not a good idea to cast one, let alone, both non-instant DoTs. Even when I was heavy affliction I would mostly just cast Corruption and Curse of Agony on as many people as possible and watch as the Nightfalls roll in (actually at 70, it's more fun to spam Seeds of Corruption). And with Ruin, my Shadow Bolts crit super hard (around 2.5k at the moment) allowing me to get the upper hand when it counts. Dark Pact will keep you in the fight longer and the instant Howl of Terror (iHoT) will keep you out of trouble. |

I have yet to try Affliction in the BG's, but I know Demo pretty well. I've been Demo specced 1-70 on this toon, and the survivability can be really nice. The mana efficiency is horrible though, so unless you roll with a healer helpin' you out frequently, it may not be as useful in a BG. But since you've got your resto Druid buddy, it'll be great, heal, a couple life taps, and you're good to go. Affliction gives you practically infinite mana, but you're not gonna get a ton of KB's. It is also (apparently) the easiest build to level. The Felguard is a beast in PvP, and from what I've heard, works very well in Arena (largely because you live longer with SL). Personally, I love Felguard build, and don't really plan on changing except for raiding, if necessary. |
