Bestial Wrath Hunter (having problem)

Hi all fellow locks,

This is my first toon, and I am on a PvP server. I am getting the hang of PvPing but still lots to learn.

I am affliction spec with SB (43/0/11) at the moment.

I have problem with a Hunter (Bestial Wrath), when they go red usually end up dead. I need some tips against this red face that keep poking at me :P

Welcome to the club. No longer do I fear MM spec hunters, it's the BM hunters that really take away a big chunk of my HP. Here's a few things to keep in mind.

Line of sight (LoS): Once you break it, you only have the pet to deal with.

Curse: CoEx on the Hunter (or Curse of Agony if not Affliction), CoW on the pet.

Kill order: If I can LoS the hunter, I'll DoT and drain tank the pet. If I'm out in the open, and have both the hunter and pet on me, I'll try to stay in melee range of the hunter while DoTing up both, then drain tank the hunter.

Crowd Control: With Red hunter + Red pet, CC is out the window, so it's all about DPS/HPS. Save your CC for the moment it wears off, if you're still alive.

DD spells: unless you have Intensity, your 1.5s searing pain will become a 2.5-3s cast, so don't bother. It's all about the DoTs and Drains.

Gear: 10k HP minimum, shoot for 12k+; 150 resilience minimum, shoot for 350+

Spec: Pick 2 minimum, pref. 4+

Affliction:

Soul Siphon/Fel Concentration
Siphon Life
CoEx
iHoT

Demo:

Demonic Embrace/Fel Stamina
Soul Link
Demonic Resilience

Destro:

Intensity
Backlash
Shadow Fury
*Nether Protection (not for BM hunters, but in general)

The OP is still leveling, so Resilience and 10k HP are much harder to attain. Just carry around a stack of Free Action Potions if BM hunters pick on you that often. No pet stun + no Wingclip makes them pretty much a joke.
