Looking for some Inspiration...
Got 2 locks. One 50.....3 I think. The other 19. Have run a lot of BG's with both. Problem: Ready to move up to next BG grouping but just can't bring myself to start fighting mobs again. Just the idea of having to go out and kill mindless numbers of mobs depresses me. Guess I can look for some outside PvP, but just not the same intensity as the BG's. Please help me! |

Re: Looking for some Inspiration...
I haven't tried the BG's since the latest patch that was supposed to better balance matchup's but I don't remember Level 19 BG's being much fun. Rogues and Warriors tend to have more advantages at those levels. At 19, the imp is your only viable pet; no death coil, CoE, HoT etc. The pets, spells and talents that make a lock "a lock" don't come until much later in our careers. Gear options for that level also suck for us in my opinion. I don't think I found a decent piece of +spell damage gear until my 30's. Gear is also a major issue with the 50-59 bracket. There is a world of difference between a Level 57 grinding away in WPL and a level 58 who has Outland quest rewards. Completing the first few quests in Hellfire and a couple runs through ramps/furnance = a whole wardrobe change. I agree grinding mobs isn't much fun but you can get lots of good XP from questing alone. Besides, if you have been in BG's all this time you should have a good level or so of rest XP.

Re: Looking for some Inspiration...
Once you hit 58 leveling to 70 in outland is a breeze. There are so many quests and they are all packed together that it makes leveling easy. Also if you can get into instances you will fly through the levels. |

Re: Looking for some Inspiration...
The 10-19 BG is a very tuff place for any caster. Once you get used to fighting the "super" twinks however, its not that bad. My level 19 has lots of STAM so I can take a few hits from them. The lock role in the 10-19 BG is DoT and Fear application. Not killing blows. The twinks normally have so much health themselves its next to impossible to take them down solo. I think learning to be successful in this environment will make me a much better player down the road. The Hunters don't know what to do with me when I start charging towards them so they can't use there twinked ranged weapons on me. If I make it that far. Like the original post states, It's the actual level'ing (killing normal mobs) thats depressing. |

Re: Looking for some Inspiration...
Many BGs = blue experience! Go level off your blue experience doing kill quests. Hit zones you haven't been in. If you are still 50, you may have a couple of warlock quests to do in Felwood. Doing felwood quests and exploring there, enslaving the elite demons, is the first thing I did when I left the 40-49 bracket. In no time I had added 5 levels. If you've burned off your rest XP, go annoy some people in BGs by entering in the lower half of your bracket for a couple days. Maximize your multi-mob pulling, if you aren't thinking "I hope I survive this combat" you aren't sufficiently simulating BGs. Instances are good for practicing teamwork, find some like minded BGers on your server and instance together and build a cohesive team. You can probably clear rest experience on your 19 in less than an hour, then park him again. Don't forget world PvP, when you hit 55 or 56 hit eastern plaguelands turn on the flag and make sure those towers are yours (get to hope chapel and pickup the relevant quest there.) Need more motivation? Spend your BG tokens on the gear for the next bracket. Buyup your bag slots in the bank and get soul bags for them. Fill up the soul bags while you're grinding. And don't forget to /spit and /lol at mobs if the mood stikes you. |
