Finally getting into arena's and pvp...

I have always been a PvE 5-man typa person, but lately its been getting old and I have been doing 2v2 a bit more.

I spec'd affliction because i heard that was pretty good for 2v2 because of iHoT and those killer DoT's...

but I definitely think i don't have enough spell damage and my 2v2 team is just horrible...

any suggestions on a build with this kinda gear? was in the process of makin Frozen shadow weave gear, but someone told me i shouldn't and just keep pvp'ing /arena..

heres my linkage

oh btw, i'm with a rogue on my 2v2 adventures

With your relatively poor gear and rogue partner, I think you'll have to go with a soul link spec...its going to be tough without out it as you've probably seen with your rating. If you're serious about pvp, look at some of the top ranked locks specs in arena and copy theirs...I personally like 9 41 11 but there are tons of options. Make sure you practice running the felguard/felhunter in bgs just to get used to it...

It doesn't look like you're raiding either (no apparent kara gear) so I'd spec full pvp. I'm spec'd that way and am usually 1st-2nd in kara damage, so I've seen no need to change.

Well first off, your going to want more health, anything <8k and rogues will kill you before your able to get a cast off. I have the Frozen shadowweave set, it helped me get some more +damage and be able to socket it full of stam gems.

Try a demo build, soul link, demonic resilience, and the felguard really help in 2v2

I tried stuff with my current and gear (decent/mediocre for PvE) and got absolutely destroyed. Lesson learned: need more health and more resilience. I think your problem is along those lines as well.

I haven't tried arena yet, I still feel that I need more PVP experience, that's why I have been "practicing" in the BG's. When doing this you get honor points to buy PVP equipment, which helps.

Without doing instances and raids you will be able to get 12000hp, 900dmg and approx 300 resilience (and yes you have to get all the enchants possible). I believe that's a good start for the arena.

and yes spec demo...

Re: Finally getting into arena's and pvp...

First rated 2v2 last night with a friend of mine, Me (affliction lock) and a paladin (retri). i was getting about 32k damage against a good group. the good thing is that most people go for my friend first, because he is a pala of course, thinking he can keep me alive, once they realise that it isnt working, they come for me and are already nearly dead. and i have found, most arena's are not hunter friendly. DoT and run round a pillar and it's easy.

We played 24 games, started off at 1303 rating i think, won 20 lost 4. The four we actually lost were at the beginning so as we got against better teams it worked better. Finished at about 1600 rating, not bad for our first attempt.

P.S I love blessing of protection!! get me now warriors!!! muahahahaha

>10k HP is mandatory for the Arenas, anything less and you'll get wtfpwned. Only exception would be a SL spec w/ a holy Pally, but even then, if the other side can keep the Pally out of commission for 5 seconds, you're toast.

I remember my first Arena matches, with like 8k HP, 30/0/31 spec. I got owned so fast I literally couldn't even get off a death coil.

I was 43/7/11 spec with around 8k hp in my first 20 arena 5v5 matches and was dead in the first 20 secs 9/10 times.
