Lock v.s. Hunter
Hey there. I'm no newbie to the world ov PVPing, having many times fought every class, most 60+ since I was mid-30's. Over this span of time, I've killed over 3000+ alliance, and have come up with a way to defeat almost every class in a duel. Even if they are level 70.
Now, the problem is I'm a fell demo specced lock, and my Felguard really helps me, but my bane is the BM hunters. I can never seem to get them down, before they can get me down. I've tried fearing them, but the pets always seem to always get me. It's the cat's that usually always get me. Does anyone have any suggestions to fighting these hunters. I'm a pure demo build, so that leaves me without things like Coex, or things like that. So any idea's on how to defeat a BM Hunter? |

Curse of weakness on the pet, fear it when you can, then burn the hunter down from his deadzone.

Basically your goal is to live through TBW so that you can get a fear on him, so you'll be relying heavily on Soul Link and stam gear to get you through the fight. If all else fails start carrying a stack of Free Action Potions. Saving DC for the moment TBW wears off is ideal, but not always possible if you need the heal from it. |

How do you get in the deadzone? They run faster then you. You are getting attacked by their cat as you run. Throw curse of exhaustion at them and you end up frost trapped while their pet rips you a new one.
I've managed to beat almost every level 70 class (at level 66) except rogues and hunters. Rogues, because they never give me a chance (only have close to 7k health). Hunters, because I can never control them (they always control me). |

Re: Lock v.s. Hunter
I always have a problem with hunters also (BM only) Since I roll with a BM hunter if we come across any scenarios that involve taking on a hunter he handles it as I back him up. Rogues are much much easier... now , once I practiced alot and got a few techniques down. Fel hunter! our speciality pet great for casters/rogues. He doesn't pack the punch on the attck like my Fel Guard but he will chase those little rogues to the end of the earth. Once you see then dot up, and fight like normal. Having the fel hunter out takes the control out of the rogues hands. If you are duelling and are a human use perception and post FG 8-10 yards away on agg/def. When they go for a stunlock he will charge and hack them up. IMO hunters pets are way overpowered. I mean the FG is a beast but he can't run like a BM pet not even close, even if you combined VW armor with FG attack power.

Re: Lock v.s. Hunter
So I should try using Curse of weakness then? I'll give that a shot. I also though about using speed potions to give me some running boost to avoid the nasty slowing effects, or invest in an insginia of the Horde.
Also, Rogues arn't much of a problem for me. I have learned that the Felpuppy actually can sniff out rogues and run to them, without you ever noticing the rogue. Once, me and my guild mates were repelling some alliance from Undercity, and one of them was a rogue. Well, he was good, and fast to use his abilities. Well, I was standing there, pet on aggro, and not a monster around. all of a sudden he ran off, and I followed. Sure enough, on the other side of the field, my felpup attacked something and the rogue became visible. It was so awsome. Almost as awsome as this glitch where my Fg followed this lowbie I had dueled. Oh and also. Does Felpuppy eat that ice trap? I always wondered if they did or not. All Warlock's should be able to have some kind of movement hampering spell. Not just affliction specced. >< |

Re: Lock v.s. Hunter
demonology has intercept, destruction has shadowfury, affliction has CoEx. seems fair to me.
