How to escape a rogue attack!!!???

Hello guys, I'm a 4/4/47 Firelock built for PvP. I sometimes have troubles with rogue attacks in PvP. I need your oppinion on

"How to survive a sudden rogue attack?"

Please give details, casts, pets....

Trinket, trinket trinket, wait for the kidney shot tho, he will have less combo points and energy after that to work with. iHoT, all your insta dots, (Don't bother wasting precious time with 2.5 sec cast casue after three dots I find they usually blow Cloakofskill, keep your distance at all times, count to 5, fear, and nuke.

I always have my felpuppy out nipping at his heels at all times, in hopes that he will be dumb enough to attack my pet, which he usally doesn't, I find warlocks will attack my pets more than any other class (and not even banish it). It isn't a perfect system, probably more skilled players will have better advice but this is a start, casue the more ya know......

Trinket, shadowfury and directly HoT.
Let your succube attack him and when she can, seduce him
(to slow him down).
Fear, and when he uses CoS RUN ! keep your distance.
Searingpain (fast dps) immo/conflag Shadowfury Shadowburn give him all you've got.

Doesn't work all the time, but it works sometimes.

Cheapshot - Seduce > Rogue trinkets - Seduce again > If he uses CloS you PvP trinket out KS and try to run away from him till CloS is over, then Deathcoil and fear. If he doesn't CloS, trinket out and deathcoil, be sure to this before he can reapply poisons, then fear. At this point you should have decent distance between you and your opponent, if not, run away a little further so you have some distance to avoid sprint.

If he already used CloS: Soulfire > Shadowfury > Immolate > Conflagrate > Searing Pain > Searing Pain, if he used sprint you run away and let your succ re-seduce. if he doesn't use sprint, put your succ on attack and run away till he uses sprint, then let your succ seduce again, just keep running while he's seduced, or load a incinerate / immolate and a fear right after. Conflagrate > Shadowburn should finish it off, if not, SP SP SP SP.

PS: Use healthstone carefully, and if you like, equip spellstone so you can dispell poisons if the rogue is CC'd and you are having troubles running away ( I'm not sure if it works, but I think Spellstone does remove poisons).
And mind Backlash, it should proc quite a few times and it's a good way to get the rogue on low health before CCing him again.

If the rogue didn't use CloS yet: Soulfire > Shadowfury > Immolate > Conflagrate (if you are fast the rogue can't click CloS yet). After that keep nuking, but be carefull, do not let him come close to you. if he uses CloS, run away. If he uses Sprint, reseduce and make distance, if he uses both, run away, wait till CloS wears off and let your succ seduce him again, make distance. Cast incinerate / Immolate > conflagrate / SP > Searing pain till he is close then start running again and shadowburn or shadowfury to finish it off.

If for any reason you are stuck in melee combat with him and all your CC is gone due to the DMR, try to wear him out, spam SP and watch backlash to proc and use all instants possible. Shadowfury also gives you a few seconds to cast immolate > conflagrate, and that should be another 2.5k damage, I do not recommend this since rogues seem to hit hard :P

Remember if you do get close to them have your finger over your SB or Incin button to smash his face with instant backlash procs.

Find a rogue (friend) and practice untill you drop. If you are not right equiped, you can forget it. This is not skill or balance 1vs1

I got bugged by a druid yesterday. Who wanted to dual. After 5 declines I got tired.
I showed him the corners of Brewfest. (undeserved btw as I was not even performing verwy well) He wanted again.
"Why, you lost. Now let me drink "was my comment" Flamefest started.
Friendly rouge wanted to try too. I told him that I hated dualing and that rogues where my enemy. But it was a long time ago against a rogue.
Stunlocked till death. Not counting the 1.5 sec i got from Ihot.

True I replied. But for you I need to change gear. Insignia trinket etc.
Yes true he said.
We both continued our Journey. With one former PvP master taking an extra beer or two to drink away the pain of the pve oriented not able to kill some certain opponent while I pawn the other experience.

And for Demonology it is just the outlive strategy?

I normally try to get distance with Deathcoil and Fear but too often they use Cloak offensively. And my precious Deathcoil is gone. Oh my, oh my.

When I was SL/SL I was happily draining him a lot. Only PvE equipped rogues were problems back then.

When I was Affliction tried CoX kiting and NEVER had one single success (crippling poison, blind....).

In real PvP situations you cannot rely on gear, as you don't know your enemy in advance.

Maybe i see this a bit negative......but when you are Destro and the rogue is equally skilled/equipped as you are.....then you just die.

Succubus is your best bet as Illqqmore summed up quite nice imo. But then, a good rogue will use the 5 sec CloS to 2shot or 3shot the Succi, then Vanish. So you are back to beginning, have blown your CDs, no pet and he stalks at you again.

Well, im not saying you cant kill a rogue - i killed hundreds, but....usually only because they make stupid mistakes, are less-skilled or less-geared. If they match you in gear and skill then you just die, especially Destro-specced. Well, its all about Paper-Scissor-Rock. We are paper, they are scissor - and they have all the tools they need to pawn us. A rogue with all his CDs available who manages to stalk upon you should never loose, sounds strange but else it would show bad balance imo
