need help against discipline priest

hi everyone! this is the same warlock who had the problem with bm hunter. this time i have problems with discipline priests:

so me and my friend we would always duel each other and have fun, he was a shadow priest and he would sometimes kill me and i would kill him sometimes. anyways he recently respecced to discipline and dueled me, result=he would own me! he would out heal my dps and spam mana burn untill i was oom ofc i did put cot and try to drain his mana but that wouldnt work. the only time i was able to beat him was when i used succy to seduce him and use soulfire. should i employ felhunter instead of f-gurad against him?

help me guys

PS:after your good advice i eventually was able to beat down some bm hunters in bg:P

Re: need help against discipline priest

1) Use a Felhunter
2) Pop up a Shadow Ward
3) Use devour magic offensively to devour Shadow Protection, fear ward, Fortitutde.

I am not sure if you are level 70, but the key vs any disc priest is drain mana. Basically, you will not be able to burst down a disc priest (not even if you are destro).

Just chain fear and drain mana, save your spell lock for Mana burn. If spell lock is down, just use fear to counter mana burn.

Don't forget to re-shadow ward when it is up.

Against a decent disc priest, there is no other way...

ok i will keep taht in mind but im not 70, 56 and i cant fear him becuz he has fear ward and i do uise shadow ward but the only shadow spell he uses is the dot and next time ill use felpup instead of felgurad.

PS: is lock(sl/sl) and disc priest gd at 2v2? we are thinking of doing arena together...

i got a message from the den saying that i must correct my grammar so here i go:

i will keep that in mind but my current level is 56, my level is not 70. i am unnable to fear the discipline priest because he has a spell called "fear ward" which makes him immune to fear. i do use shadow ward but i think it's pointless against discipline priests since the only shadow spell that he uses is shadpw word:pain. thank you for the lovely reply i will use the felhunter next time and not the felgurad

Re: need help against discipline priest

Okay, first off, if he's putting SW:P on you at all, you need to pop your Shadow Ward up. It will absorb a lot of the damage that the dot would have done. Also, if he uses any of the shadow spells such as mind blast or mind flay, it will help absorb the damage there too. And his mana burn is shadow based too. Simply put, if you're squaring off against a priest, you need to put shadow ward up any time the cooldown is up.

Next, fear ward absorbs only one fear spell, and it has a 3 minute cooldown. So if the first shot at fear is resisted due to fear ward, just cast it again.

And lastly, your pet. The felhunter is king against casters. Between spell lock and devour magic, you should be able to cause your buddy quite a bit more grief than with the felguard. Disc priests are notoriously tough, and have a number of ways to mitigate the damage your fg would do.

One note from a priest buddy of mine: Save your pet's spell lock until the priest casts Power Infusion.

In the end though, as was stated in an earlier post, the only real way to beat a disc priest is to outlast him. Even speced as destro, you'll not be able to do enough damage to take him down before he heals right back up. Just dot him up, fear when you can, let your pet harass him, and try to drain his mana.

The poster above is correct on timing your Spell Lock. I have a Disc priest and can tell you that that is critical. Like everyone says the only way to win is to outlast against a Disc priest.
I'll even admit it... if there is an OP class, Disc priests win.
