Haste in Arena

I was wondering if anyone uses or has views on haste in Arena with S4.

They are 2 Haste Rings :-

Guardian's Band of Dominance - Item - World of Warcraft
Guardian's Band of Subjugation - Item - World of Warcraft

Haste Neck

Guardian's Pendant of Reprieve - Item - World of Warcraft

I was considering these items, as it stands I have 1250 Spell damage, 13.5k HP and 480 Resilience. I was wondering it was worth it, for the slightly faster mana drain, SB and the like ? or if it would just be a waste on time.

Re: Haste in Arena

You linked the wrong neck, that's the healer one.

You want Guardian's Pendant of Subjugation - Item - World of Warcraft

I have like 70 haste in my normal gear, I don't really notice it. I also have a couple extra items I can switch in to get up to 143 haste, but haven't really had an opportunity to try them yet.

Re: Haste in Arena

I will reach 150 haste (with some epic re-gemming, and S4 rings) in about a week, currently at 115. I can guarantee you that it helps me a lot personally actually right now.

Mana drains can't be increased BUT with haste.

It's also possible to even feel 70 hast in my opinion.

Yeah I don't doubt it has an effect, I'm just too oblivious to notice the difference. I'm definitely not in the camp that says "haste is useless unless you stack 200+ of it," I'm just saying I personally can't tell.

Re: Haste in Arena

I only notice it when I go from my standard PvP set (25 Haste) to my Haste PvP set (126 Haste). I think I'm going to stack up to about 150ish (10% casting time reduction) then go back to Spell Damage. Those 1.2s Fears are awesome.

Re: Haste in Arena

I am at 138 or so. I think I didn't enjoy any stat more than Haste. Mana drains are faster, and actually haste increases range for fleeing targets (sounds weird, but it is true).
I still have my non-haste S3 items in the back and changed yesterday. Even it's merely 10%, it felt like a different game to me, I might be oversensitive though :-).

Sidenote:

I made an 200ish Hatse + Quag Eye set for Alterac Valley Seed of Corruption duty. It's heaps and heaps of fun.

Re: Haste in Arena

Dude, spell haste is pure win. At first it seemed nerf, but once you hit 100+ haste it's definately noticeable. Even small things make a difference, like a 5 second summon, caught two teams off guard and I managed to summon a voidwalker twice in one arena battle with their melee being 0.1 second away mashing kick :P

2.2 Seconds Shadow Bolts(FG) or Incinerates are very helpful for nuking people down.

Re: Haste in Arena

ya In PvP, my fear is at 1.21 shadobolt 2.32 and incinerate 2.09. Considering rogues having a GC of 1 sec, each 1% haste mean 2% less time for them to kick my fear, or my searing pain/immolate if they don't wait for the kick, and if they wait ==> less damage taken.

Re: Haste in Arena

I have to agree that it starts to become noticeable when you get over 100+. In arenas I just keep it such that my fears are at 1.2 secs and it's great to win a fear off against another lock.

In BGs like AV I try and stack as much as possible as it seems to make it easier to dot up more of the opposition, which in turn propels me up the healing charts from all the SLs.

I was surprised in an AB game which was not going so well to hear a complaint to the healers from another player saying that a lock (me) was the current top heals.

As a sidenote in PVE you need to stack a bit more of haste than 100 as I had to sacrifice crit for more haste and it actullay lead to a decrease of my dps. (This is in the standard destruct raiding build)
