5v5 arena spec for new season

Hello fellow warlocks

I been using the den here for all my walock info since I started playing one just before season 3 started. Well I always thought that most locks specced SL/SL for 2' and 3's. Demo or UA for 5's.

I am bout to start 5v5'ing with 3 pallies an MS warrior and myself. ( not the best makup but finding teams are brutal on my server-- rppve) I have been looking at arena ranking website and arena junkies and cant help but notice just about 95% of the locks on 5v5 teams with over 2000 rating this season are SL/SL specced.

Is this correct? I would assume on my 5v5 team im gonna get pwnt as soon as walk out into the arena being the only clothie. Im planing on hiding a bit until my teamates run out in front of me ..... any suggestions ? Think im better off trying to dps as demo..... survive with sl/sl or hide and dot as fast as possible with ua?

Any feedback would be appreciated ... thanks in advance.

It kind of depends on what your role is on your 5v5 team. If you're meant to be a source of burst damage, a FG build may be more appropriate. However, a lot of Warlocks on 5v5 teams are running heavy CC duty along with their damage, and sl/sl will allow you to quickly thread DOTs in between your Fears and stay alive while doing it.

It sounds like you have a tricky 5v5 lineup, but it could be a lot of fun too. Good luck!

I'm assuming the pally's will respec for your arena fights (as I write this they look to be holy, holy and protection spec)? Are you running with 2 holy and 1 ret, or 1 holy and 2 ret? I'm wondering if you end up with 2 holy pallys on your team (or worse, if no one respecs), you might even try experimenting with a destro build for more burst, or at least go FG.

I share your pain regarding team makeup. I just transferred to a new server to join a larger guild with RL friends and out of 40 or so 70s, very few of them like to arena and we had to pick up some randoms. As SL/SL I am basically dotting and fearing and keeping FH on healer but was hardly ever the focus fire target (our shaman in mail seems to draw that honor more often than not, even above the destro lock). 'Course we're at a low bracket so not sure how representative that will be at higher ratings.

How your talent build does in PvP, which is the best build, or asking how a certain talent would work in a build for PvP - not fine.

On a personal note I edited the OP's post because some of the terms he used are offensive - we're above that sort of common internet vulgarity. I'm locking the thread because we simply do not want more Talent Build questions in this section.
