New "king" of battlegrounds...
I ll not tell much... As battlegrounds are the main reason i play the game and indulging these days great many times in them, i finally would say that paladins are the new kings. So many paladins in the first places in killing blows and damage scale (at the stats in the end of each bg) i had never seen before. EXAMPLE: Check Shyanis-Bloodscalp (EU). Medium PVP gear, but in WSG slaughtered anyone who met. Even in "Metamorphosis" plus 510 res, this paladin reaped me in seconds. It 's their time? Maybe. A PVE-oriented friend of mine said that in Heroics too, first positions in damage covered by paladins too. I just wonder why always a class should be so much OP...

Re: New "king" of battlegrounds...
Maybe the problem was that you were in demon form. Paladins have extra abilites they can use against demons meaning while we're in demon form they're our biggest anti class :P Don't know much about the new paladin abilites or this latest patch though since I've not been playing for a few months(playing WAR just now :P). Actually why am I still here? :S :P |

Re: New "king" of battlegrounds...
I was told by a pally on PTR that pallies are currently OP but that scaling and spells at 80 will be what balances them out. So they will bask in thier glory till 80. |

Re: New "king" of battlegrounds...
it's not just pally's, it's pretty much every melee class...at least vs us warlocks. I'm thinking it's time to hang up my pvp duds until the expansion and level 80 rolls around...right now I feel like I'm back where I was when I started playing my lock...a bloody free kill no matter what spec. Resilience, hp, SL, none of it really makes a whit of difference vs the ridiculous burst damage of warriors, pally's etc. and now I'm getting stunlocked by feral druids as well as rogues...everyone has 5 different ways to break fear so our "escape" has become quite a joke. Lol that's if I can even get off an instant cast fear, 50% of the time I'm stunlocked and don't even get a cast off before I'm dead... Oh well, such is the wisdom of blizzard |

This. Seriously, nerf fear AND give all melee a way to keep us from doing the only thing we can do, cast spells. It's a joke really. At least a mage can freeze and cast a burst right when they break. We have no way of getting away from melee, its seriously completely ridiculous. If their is a pally that even looks at me funny, I'm dead before I can get my second dot up. Howl of terror just flat out doesn't work most of the time; when it does, it only delays the inevitable. I can't even get a fear off before I am dead. And than if I do manage to get off a fear cast, by some miracaculous anomolie, I can't hit them with any spells because damage breaks the fear. Really? How I am I supposed to do anything in BGs? Than, to top it all off, I am going OOM all the time now (This is on the rare occasion I find a way to stay behind a wall of melee on my team, and can keep some distance between me and enemies, managing to not die instantly) wtf? Life tap sucks now, as well as just exacerbates the speed with which my stamina bar goes bye-bye. Further more, in order to do decent damage I have to keep my pet going crazy all the time, consequently taking away any ability I have to dark pact him for mana, because he is usually out of it too. ![]() Wow, sorry about all the crying I just did. I have been working on dealing with it. Just trying to be crafty in general. Today in the BGs, just blowing my cooldowns as frequently as possible, burning through soul-shards as often as the cooldown on my healthstone was up, using tons of potions, etc., etc., and really pushing everything I had, I did end up in the top five on 'the list'. But even with all my extra effort, there was always 3-4 Pally's above me on the list. This further works to illustrate the desparities between our class and everyone else's as well. Because it isn't just at 70 that Pally's are owning everyone. It's even going on in my 49 bracket. I mean for christ's sake rogue's dont even have Cloak of Godmode in this bracket yet, and they still get instant kills on all cloth. /lame. I don't even know if I am gonna buy lich king. |

Re: New "king" of battlegrounds...
I tend to agree with some of what you are all saying. Generally speaking, before the patch anyway, if I was 1 vs. 1 with a rogue I could win at least 60% of the time and even more than that if the rogue sucked. But....if he had help from anyone else, I was a dead warlock. Yes, I got my HK's. Yes, I led in damage, killing blows, etc. Not all the time, but sometimes. My problem was when a rogue or warrior stunlocked me into oblivion. Now I hear it is even worse since the patch. I have not done any battlegrounds since the release of 3.0, and not sure when I will. One thing I can say with all honesty is that my 'lock is way more squishy since the patch. We ran heroics the other night and my damage was less than before and I died more often. I just need practice with the new talents is what I am hoping. I have yet to try the affliction tree but I am doing that this weekend hopefully.I DO know one thing: I have been leveling my rogue the past week, and although I have not done any bg's with him since the 20-29 bracket, I am PAWNING mobs in PVE. Especially casters. I am killing casters in Terokkar Forest in less than 5 seconds. Blizzard most definitely loves their melee classes. So, either we wait for more changes (rest assured there will be more of them), we deal with what we are given, or we roll a new toon. Personally, I am doing all of the above.

Re: New "king" of battlegrounds...
Rogues seems a bit stronger, but what makes me join this QQ thread is that warrior whirlwind. A 51 point talent that makes a S2 geared warrior kill a S4 geared warlock in 5 seconds is stupid.

Re: New "king" of battlegrounds...
After playing BGs a lot, it seems like it's going back to this, at least for a while: YouTube - World of roguecraft - Balance Just move paladins from "paper" to "Nuclear Blast" and it'll be completely accurate. |
