Do kids pick Alliance?
This post was kind of hard to place on a forum so i put it on the battle ground forum because its based around BG's Is anyone on the horde winning bg's in like 4minutes. The queues on my server are around 3-6minutes and av is over in under 5minutes which is 1100honor straight up. so every 10 minutes I'm getting 1100honor, thats almost 7000honor in an hour. Yesterday the av was 38horde vs 2alliance. In no way am i complaining about this, just think its kind of funny. The new 80 BG we also win stupidly fast. Has alliance just given up? Or is what they say about alliance really true? At least on my server and in RL we always talk about alliance being kids. Because kids pick the pretty looking guy not the big green monsters. Not all alliance are kids, but most of the younger kids that play would pick alliance. Is school and early bed times the reason alliance are slow with the leveling, thus having no one to vs. the MIGHTY HORDE in BG's? Also, do alliance really yell "For the alliance!" cause that just doesn't sound as good as: FOR THE HORDE!!!!!! Last edited by ultimo; November 21, 2008 at 08:59 PM.. |

Re: Do kids pick Alliance?
Do kids pick alliance? No. In fact I believe in quite the opposite. There is generally a disparity in with respect to the number of Horde and Alliance on any given server; typically Horde numbers far outway those of the Alliance. What this results in is an aggregate of more skilled players on the Horde end. A fiatorem, 38 Horde VS 2 Alliance. The flow on effect is that Horde have been able to farm badges and Honor far more quickly and effectively than Alliance, thus becoming geared much sooner, thus putting them into arena with robust amounts of resilience and HP, thus allowing them to succeed in Arenas, get impressive ratings, and ultimately even better gear and so on, so on. I have no factual basis for my next statement, but personally I think that adolescents make up the vast majority of Horde players, and are attracted to them because they are 'Dark'; something that suits the teen (and indeed mature-age mental- teen) dramaturgy perfectly. They've yet to really learn about the contrived; It's still 'cool' to be Horde. Despite everything, I really enjoy playing Ally on a Horde dominated server. There's More underdog Bg victories. Cheers, B |

Re: Do kids pick Alliance?
I didn't once say alliance are ONLY kids. I said kids play alliance more then horde. Its the idea of being a "good guy" which in my opinion attracts kids. Not the idea of being a blood thirsty undead or orc, which is more aimed at late teenages. |

Re: Do kids pick Alliance?
Stereotyping factions is stupid and pointless. I can't count the number of moronic S2 geared Undead rogues that have tried to gank and camp my lowbie alts most of whom I know for a fact are under 16. I'd rather play with morons than a--holes, and most of the kids on Alliance are the former, while Horde tend to be a mix of both. As for Alliance having a higher percentage of kids, that's simply not true in my experience, it tends to be 50/50 and I actually find bg's rather balanced in terms of win-lose ratio, you just have to get lucky and not be get into a bg with a bunch of terribads.

Re: Do kids pick Alliance?
I won't say who are kids and who are not, because I don't know everyone on my server personally. What I will say is that it appears that there appears to be a lot of immature idiots out there (on the server) judging by the chatter in the major cities. I don't know about BG's or arena, since I don't PvP. When I first joined WoW, it appeared that most of the immature chatter, leet speak, inane baloney, vulgar talk (or as vulgar as they could get), etc chat was mainly centered around alliance. It appears that over the last year or so that this type of behavior has switched sides to the horde on my server. I play both or either at times and this is what I have observed. One can only surmise that this is probably because horde has become the "cool" place to be. Too many times and in too many places I have seen how horde pwns all and horde is great and ally sucks and all that. Well, on my server at least, for those whom that matters (immature people who have to be "cool") the message seems to have gotten out. |

Re: Do kids pick Alliance?
I would say it's pretty fairly balanced. On the other hand I know on Cenarius it at least feels like the Alliance way outnumber us, I have no actual numbers to prove it however ![]() If by Kids you mean immature people, I can tell you Horde has it's fair share of them. For example at times while doing Battlegrounds I would rather kill my allies(as in my teammates ;P) than the enemy team. At the end of the day it's still "For the HORDE!" for me.

Re: Do kids pick Alliance?
God, this again. I think it is just stupid about how all horde mention how Alliance are just little kids that suck at PvP. I think that alot of 'younger' people go into BGs for free blues / epics, and because it isn't as hard to get into and (usually) not organized with a group of people at a certain time. The 'cool and mature' kids don't pick horde, from what I've seen, there's a lot of immature and annoying people that go horde because they think they are the 'leet' gang because they are the horde. The big, bad horde. I haven't gotten into seeing the PvP people, since I'm a raider. But that is in my guild are kind, hard-working people during the day, that just want to sit down with a beer at the end of a long day and go kill some end-game bosses. Each side has immature and 'dumb' people, but we all have experienced players too. It isn't like Alliance is all just people that have no idea what they are doing, and the Horde are 'gods'. I'm sorry, but if you think that, you need help. (I know you didn't say that in your original post, but I know there are hardcore 15 year olds on the horde that do think that). |
