Dalaran Arena Trick for Locks
For those of us who still endure arena given our current state, a nifty trick: When you get the Dalaran arena, plop down your demonic circle right there where you buff up before the match. When the match begins, DOT up everything in sight, and you can port back to your circle up above the actual arena, leaving you temporarily immune to melee (the kings of arena) damage. It's temporary because after a few seconds (I haven't timed it yet) you WILL be expelled back down into the combat area (my partner says "the water pushes you back down the pipe) BUT it's long enough to bandage and even toss off a shadow bolt or (sometimes) two if your opponents are close enough. Limited usefulness but usefulness nonetheless. Thought I'd share. |

Another nice trick is to place the Demonic Circle on the edge near one of the piles. When a melee is owning you (again) jump off the edge and make the melee dude follow. Then port back up the edge and the melee has to run all the way around to the stairs to get back to you. Easily time for some extra dots and a fear on his partner.

I actually usually put it by a staircase on the side I'm not going to be on, then when they come to me, I port to the other side and run up the staircase and then back across to where my partner is. |

this doesn't work anymore, well at least the first one doesn't. In the last patch it said that they rigged it so that whenever the water washes right at the beginning of the battle, the demonic portal dissapears |

the demonic portal at the sewers in dalaran dissapears indeed. Took me a few times being horribly slaughtered in the arena before i realised it was gone. I now try to place it behind the crates, on the middle floor. at nagrand, i place it right behind one of the 4 pillars. It's ideal to vanish from the fight, leaving you opponents confused for 5-6 seconds. meanwhile you can bandage up. I use the same trick in blade's edge as morbidmike. It seems not very usefull to use the portal in the orgrimmar or lordaeron arena, or at least that's how i experienced it. correct me if i'm wrong EDIT: typos...
