2v2 with Survival Hunter!
I have been doing some 2v2 with a Survival Hunter (me as 0/52/19). At first I was sceptical. I thought... this will never work. But we played and practised a bit, got used to each other. This wednesday we got to 1550 rating and got stuck there. This evening we started doing arenas again and topped out to 1750 rating! The setup is working VERY well. Our damage output is awesome (the hunter is a killing machine, while I myself in Meta with all dots up and Immolation Aura with Searing Pain spam and Shadowburn dish out huge DPS too), combined with good CC (Wyvern Sting, Scatter Shot, Fear, Deathcoil). We only teamed up this week. And we are still learning to play with each others playing style, getting to know each other and so on. We didnt even use Vent yet. I am very excited about this setup, I think we can make the 1850 or even 1900 with it. I suggest you try it too! It rocks.

Thank you for the post Morbidmike. Care to elaborate on some of your key strategies? Say vs 2DPS or Healer/DPS? Pre-BC, I have done this combo quite a bit, but we always struggle with Divine Shield, CLOS/Vanish, Nature Switfness, Iceblock type immunities reseting the fight. LOS and pillar humping were also quite frustrating.

The Hunter switched teams :\. Playing with a Rogue now (working even better tbh). But what we used to do: nuke DPS, CC healer. Not so hard with 3 Fears, Death Coil, Wyvern Sting, Scatter Shot and Intercept from Felguard. ALWAYS be very careful you will not break Wyvern Sting and Scatter Shot. (Felguard Cleave, DoTs, and especially Immolation Aura) Vs Holy Pallies we would burn the Pally until he pops Bubble, then start nuking the DPS. So the Pally needs to heal the DPS or himself because he is low HP too. When Bubble runs out we either kill the Pally (if he didn't heal himself) or the DPS (chain CC the Pally). Vs Retardins we would burn the Pally until he Bubbles, then LoS like crazy, avoid damage as much as possible. After Bubble nuke Pally and chain CC healer or the other DPS. Vs Rogue/Disc we would usually lose (especially if Undead Priest), but anyway we would be nuking the Rogue and trying to CC the Priest (exceptionally hard, especially if Undead). Curse of Tongues is your friend! Vs Rogue/Mage the usual. Nuke the Rogue, try to CC the Mage as best as you can. Try to LoS the mage. Hope they do not score big crits. We did not have much trouble with other teams. Rogue/Disc was by far the hardest for us. Another annoying setup we met was Warrior/Druid because the Druid was simply very good at LoSing but we only met them once. Think other teams slaughtered them and kept them low. With Rogue it is basically the same tactics (only it works better). Rogue should sap the healer, then nuke DPS. Start casting Fear when Sap has 1.5 sec left. The tactic is entirely the same, nuke DPS CC healer. If you meet double DPS go for the weakest DPS and CC the other.

Thank you for the reply. A pity the hunter - lock duo didn't get a chance to go further though.
