Of course gear is a huge factor. When a player is out geared skill tends to really become meaningless. I normally have no problem with DKs I meet, but there are a few that just destroy me. Sometimes its a matter of things proccing at the right time too. I find that if I have the jump on them I win though. If I can get land haunt and UA on them first I win.. I normally follow with a fear then Curse of Agony and Corr, then haunt again then fear, UA and renew Curse of Agony if needed. When I don't need to renew a dot, fear or haunt I will life or soul drain them. The key as many have said is keeping your distance from them. If they Death Grip you and get the jump on you its a different game altogether though. Death Coil and Howl of Terror are great in this situation though. I have even beaten DKs that have used the army of dead thing they have. The trick there was to throw corr up as many as I could to get the siphon life heals and VW shield. Plus HS and Battle trink for health and Health Pots too. The key there is to keep the DK feared and dotted and I usually drain life then to keep my health up. It can be done

Going back to the OP, Death Knights are crazily overpowered between levels 60 and 80. At level 80 I consider DKs to be my easy meat, usually dead in 3 GCD's. Plus fear is really effective against them. Now ret paladins and rogues, different story... :( |
