Re: PvP Stats rating for Warlocks
IF your a destro spec crit should have a much higher value. Figure it to be about the same or slightly less than spell power.

At the moment I'm at zero spell penetration (810 resilience, ~1700 spell power unbuffed, 4.5% hit and 16.9% crit, 150 haste) -- wondering how you all would prioritize adding some spell pen vs. losing roughly an equal amount of spellpower + crit (in aggregate). For example, I was contemplating using the S4 offhand and wand vs. my PVE pieces to get a bit of penetration (~60) at the expense of crit (~25 I think) and spellpower (~40 loss), at least until I (hopefully) get enough rating to upgrade. That switch would also add about 37 resilience so I could regem to make up for some of the spellpower/crit loss. Or is this switch not worthwhile unless I can get fully to 130-140? And somewhat related (since I'd need to switch this to get to 130-140), but the +35 spell penetration enchant vs. lightweave? The Lightweave seems to proc pretty often (and it's a nice proc) so is that better to use if you can gem for spell pen instead or is the +35 spell pen cloak enchant GENERALLY the best thing to use if you're not at the 130-140 level already? @ Crescendo -- interesting observations. I was also thinking of dropping my +resilience medallion and trinket (Flow of Knowledge) for two +spellpower trinkets (one being the medallion replacement) which would drop my resilience into the 600s unless I regeared a bit, but that would be a huge upgrade to spellpower. Re: PvP Stats rating for Warlocks
I just want to mention that the hit cap for PvP is 4%. So if you spec suppression that is 3% right there and another 1% could be coming from your draenei parter if you are lucky enough to have one. 4% is NOT hard to get, especially if your not high enough to get the arena weaps/OHs, and you are stuck using your PvE ones with some hit on em... 1% ~= 26 hit rating 2% ~= 52 hit rating 3% ~= 79 hit rating 4% ~= 105 hit rating Spell hit - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft Last edited by Kryptix; June 09, 2009 at 02:42 AM.. Blood elves have a 2% chance to be missed by magic in general, undead and draenei has a 2% chance to not be hit by shadow spells. For this reason you want 6% hit for pvp. |

Re: PvP Stats rating for Warlocks
i never use any curses, well ill use curse of tongues ever now and again. Seems like a waste of time for me. I run pally/lock, currently we're 910 rating(1st season doing it and we just started couple days ago, so we're doin alright). We finally got everything locked down and have improved tremendously. Curse of tongues has saved us against a couple healers and things like that. So IMO if your going to use a curse, make it curse of tongues on the healer. |

Actually I found the tailoring set (Frostsavage) to be definitely worthwhile. I couldn't hardly survive someone sneezing in my general direction before - dressed in PvE gear - now at least I can survive a few hits before I roll over and play dead. Have a general question for you guys - is Destro the spec of choice for PvP or is Aff a viable build? I'm looking at a 57/14 build that looks pretty good but before I go respec I want to make sure it's not completely defunct or something. I currently run 14/57 but it's a PvE setup - no molten skin, shadowburn or backlash included - so it's obviously not optimal for BG. Are there any talents that are completely necessary for *all* PvP builds? I assume Demonic Aegis and Soul Link count, are there any others? |
