Re: Mages......w t f

I PVP as Des and I dont have a problem with them. With Nether Prot up I have 56% damage medigation w/out resilience (Nether Prot, Molten Skin, Soul Link) and that was nerfed from from 86% when Nether Prot was 60% damage proc.

If you use curse of agony, you are fail, in PVP if the target lives long enough for Curse of Agony to fully tick, you are either dead or going to die, its 200% better to use either Weakness or Tongues. And yes, use Tongues on mages even though they can dispell this cu chances are they will not see it for a spell or 2 when you cast it so it still slows down a couple of their spell and they still have to use a gcd to cleanse it.

Chaos Bolt is your friend to punch right through all their fancy bubbles they have.

Succubus Seduce works fantastic when hes ice and has stunned you or arcane and silenced you, even if hes dotted up, it will still interupt his cast, and IMO Succubus is better than Fel Hunter because you can only silence him once in the fight vs several seduces to interupt his casting.

And dont forget Detect Invis, Invis is that secret get away button that they think will get them out of harms way out of everything, not from warlocks though.

Past that its pretty much just riding out his damage when hes got you stunned and silenced, if he hasnt used counterspell on you and you are afflic, i recommend playing fire spec until he counterspells so you can quickly follow up with a fear as fear is shadow school and the majority of your dps is there as well.

Lastly my PVP build is 0/18/53 if you guys are interested. You just got weather out their stuns and silences, the only problem I have with mages is if they are smart and rotating through all their schools of magic to rend nether protection virtually useless.

A few things to note: 1) You can have 61% mitigation if you are glyphed for Soul Link, 2) Curse of Weakness on a mage really is a waste of a curse...CoE or Curse of Agony would both be better, and 3) 0/20/51 is a better spec than 0/18/53 if you are using the Succubus.

Carry on.

If you would notice I said use Curse of Weakness OR Tongues as a rule in general. Weakness for anything melee, tongues for anything caster, elements for hunter as weakness is only melee ap, if you even bother with curses on a hunter cuz with backlash, they usually drop quickly unless they pop what they use to deflect and parry everything in front of them.

For glyphs I chose to go with Shadowflame, Conflagrate and Incinerate, but I think I might try that soul link glyph for the Incinerate glyph, seems to be a difference of 5% extra Inc damage vs 5% damage medigation which would help against rogues.
