Here again a post who many ppls will dislike.. But the euro final beta will start and you have already experienced some PvP in US. I really hope you will not drop this post. I made it in this forum because there is a big number of post in blizzard forum who contradicting each other. At the high level/end game Worlock worth it in PVP or not? I wish to know what they really worth . And not with some theory.. but in reality. A GOOD warlock VS a GOOD whatever (paly/shaman/priest/rogue... ) Good/not good. Good if shard/Useless if not. Not bad if pet../useless if not.. etc etc. Is the classe really armed with spell and talent to be effectiv in PVP at this moment? I have a RL friend shaman lev 60 who has PVP a lot and he told me that warlock just suck in pvp. He never ever lose to one.. They are burn alive by almost every classe if jumped. Can do something if we engage first.. I know warlock is fun in PVE.. and fun is good enough to choose a class.. But this is not what i m looking for with this post, then please, don't take this way. Ppls here have already show how serious they can be. I hope you will take this post seriously.. even if there was many other like this one before. Thx by advance. Regards, Soulrealm |

Well don't think that you are going to be a PvP god. We have a long ways to go and really depending on how you do your talents in regards to how you feel comfortable playing your warlock can mean alot. Midlevel we are mediocre and 99% of your fights will not be 1v1. Usually you will be jumped by a party of enemy players. In group PvP we are extremely strong and because of this we can be targeted quickly. But you can have fun with it. Last night I got jumped by 4 players in desolace all NE a 35 priest 43 rogue 39 warrior, and a 36 druid. Needless to say I lasted a mere 15 seconds. But I had a soulstone so I sat for a minute and watched em all run off and start killing hatefurys while the 43 watched their backs (luckily not his own though) so I decided to have some fun. I res and instantly casted fear on the rogue drank a mana potion and ran right into the middle of them and hit hellfire. They did not expect this and I wound up taking one of out because they were already damage from tanking. The rest were near death and ran for their lives by then I died from my own hellfire but taught them to never turn there back on a warlock cause they stood on my body till I was forced to release due to time. By then though an orc warlock with Lord Az enslaved showed up and killed em all. 1v1 well I lose some and I win some. So will you just be sure to have fun. It takes time to get a feel for what type of warlock you really are (I have already changed my tree twice). By the way I will say this shamans when played right can be godly. But I am not worried cause I am horde. They are generally the hordes answer to paladins straight up. |

What is PvP to you? Duelling an equal level class 1 v 1? Arena battle of 5 v 5? Hunting enemy faction in contested zones? Raiding with your guild with about 40 people? |

Hehehe Seroth  you are diabolic :badgrin: Thx you for your post. Kota-1vs1 , Equal level, similare stuff - GOOD players(Both classes know how to play vs each other) ; is what i'm looking for to know how we are build vs others classes. I don't think any classe will survive a 2vs1 if all players play well. If you have some time. made a post like seroth with what you think about the classe and add a little(or big) PVP story who show some of ours weaknesses or ours advantages. Its nice to see you stoped here even if this kind of posts are countless in the blizzard forum and give generaly no information. Regards, Soulrealm |

in a fair 1v1 if you're a good warlock you should be able to win regularly against all classes. however, end game doesn't emphasize 1v1 but large scale battles. how you manage to handle yourself there depends mostly on your build, and how you use it. |

id say 1 v1 warlocks can beat every class, but unlike some other classes, you need a good person playing the warlock to do anything

Also I never really started getting to where I can win quite a few times until I hit level 36. I still have a hard time with hunters but I am getting there. Paladins man I got jumped by a levl 31 and he was still hard to take down. I wasn't quite full power but 6 levels higher. I was down to nothing and a healthstone short by time we got done. |

I can't remember the last time I lost a 1v1, even vs ambushing rogues or higher-level chars. Even my 2v1 record is pretty good. When I hear/see someone talking about how bad we are in PvP, I have to wonder what game they're playing. Either they suck, or everyone else on my server does. |

Soul: I feel Warlock is pretty strong in PVP, but there is no 1 job that can Beat Every job if both are played well 1 v 1. Maybe your friend can kill warlocks easy but im sure there is another job that can kill Shaman just as easily. Sorry i dont have much experience with shamas yet, but from what i know they are deadly cause they have good dps, lots of instant casts and Healing right? Only jobs i see a good warlock having some difficulties with are shaman, Paladin, hunter, and rouge(if we get jumped and no succubus out). However, as a human warlock i have trouble with ANY undead(+10 shadow resistance and Will of the Forsaken) job to make things even worst :-) In group PvP i think warlock will really shine. I plan on going Affliction even in Team pvp just for spaming Corruption, Curse of Agony and Instant Shadowbolts with Dark pact for never ending shadowbolt spamage. CoEx + Seduce and Fear to help with croud control and protection, bleh, how are we weak again? If you think we are bad in PVP or are doubting your abilities as a Warlock i want you to check out this video with awesome 1 vs 1 and 1 vs 2 Warlock pvp'ing action. http://www.warcraftmovies.com/movieview.php?id=219 PS: I cry everyday for picking Hume Warlock, but life goes on, gota work with what you got =-(

Well warlocks are very much eqipped to take out any class in PvP. Mana drains and quick powerful death for weak casters as well as some debuffs and an anticaster pet. 1 snare and a few Dots to harrass meleers while keeping distance. Best way to beat a shaman is to have succ out and proceed to seduce-fear-dot etc..... or have imp and have very high stam and start off with a non shadow spell, and dotting+DDing him with instacast shadow or normal fire spells, and unleashing fear the second he starts healing himself or wastes earthshock on blocking the fire tree(good shamans will never do this) i just noticed that a rogue can pretty much win any encounter with a warlock from stealth.
