Greetings guys! Me and 2 friends are thinking of making arena team. Our build will be me (lock), a mage and a disc priest. What spec will be most suitable for this? I really dont mind playing affli or destr

Re: 3vs3 Arean caster spec advice
I'm doing 2vs2 and 3v3 arena right now with my Destr lock. It makes for nice burst, so considering you are making a group of clothies, you should try and get people down as quick as you can. Hence get as much burst as you can. If you want to see my spec, you can look on armory. My pvp talents are the secondary ones. I didn't take SL and went deep destr for pvp aswell, but for survivability you might want to consider going to SL anyway. And, choosing a pet for pvp.. Is a hard thing right now Succ is good, Felpuppy is good and VM is good too.

Re: 3vs3 Arean caster spec advice
I agree ^. As a caster group you do need alot of burst and get them down quickly. with affliction, it's more about kiting them around and using time to watch them die painfully ( , so affliction is much better with melee classes or druids.

Re: 3vs3 Arean caster spec advice
I am having no luck with 2s now at all. Rogues are ruining it for my team. We had 18 fights straight with rogues. lol How can 2 clothies survive that!? lol Anyway 3s tend to be better, but all clothies/casters may be rough. Destro is the way to go though simply due to the quick burst. I like affliction much better, but the way arena is now, burst rules. Still I would try out both and see what works best. Let us know Im curious

Re: 3vs3 Arean caster spec advice
Try this build: 0/17/54. There are a few points to play with: Soul Leech (3) Imp Healthstone (2) Those can be placed in imp Health Funnel/Demonic Brutality (though be prepared to have your void shield dispelled by healers in arenas) Imp Searing Pain and Pyroclasm are both good talents, but not worth trading Destructive reach or Master summoner for. As Superpoof said, 17 points is the bare minimum in Demo for competitive PvP, otherwise you are toast if your pet gets tunneled. You can get away with 11 for BGs (just to reach Soul Link), but not for arenas. |

Quote:
------------------------ +You will get 20% more healing from your healthstone (or you can spec health funnel, your choice) from Imp Healthstone. +You will get 3% more health and mana from Fel Vitality. +You will get an additional 7% more healing from ALL healing sources plus and an additional 420 armor (Demon Armor), or 30% more spell power bonus and healing from Fel Armor by spec'ing into Demonic Aegis. +You will take 20% (25% if glyphed, and you should!) less damage from all sources with Soul Link. +You will be able to instantly resummon a pet, if yours gets gibbed, by Fel Domination. ------------------------ Now add all that together and think of the difference that will make for you...AND FOR YOUR HEALER! /thread ;)

i noticed these Spec don't focus alot on the shadow bolt, i am assuming that deep destro doesn't use the shadowbolt because of incinerate right?... faster cast time, even faster with the talent spec, and all the bonuses from the other destro talents. i originally had a questing/leveling talent spec, and a raiding talent spec. the questing spec was deep demonology and the rest in affliction. that way i could use meta on mobs and stuff. but i am thinking of replacing that spec with the PVP spec seeing as how i am closing in on level 80 now, and a questing spec will not be needed. from all the posts here, it looks as though deep destro is the way to to. i have never tried it before, so i think that it will be an interesting change. hope it works out.
