Right, a deep Destro spec doesn't really use Shadow Bolt, except for a few circumstances:

1) if you spec into Imp Shadow Bolt for the raid buff, then you only cast Shadow Bolt enough to keep the buff up.

2) if your fire school gets locked out.

3) if you feel like faking a school lockout (against a kick from a rogue for example.)

4) if you don't have Immo on your target and CB is on cooldown, and you want to throw a nuke at someone quickly. (This should not happen very often...I have only done it once...ever.)

If they do I switch back to fire, and by the time the Silence fades on my Shadow school, Sburn and SF are off CD. Indeed, though I find it doesn't really help with DK's all that much because they don't have a real CD on their Mind Blast (only limited to the number of Frost Runes...and they can have up to 6 if specced accordingly, though this rarely happens), and they can usually get you twice, locking out both schools...which is no fun, escpecially when followed by Strangulate.

You can use Power Auras...that's what I used to use anyway.
