anyway a hunter and deep destro lock can be viable? Have a friend and we are releative nubs to PvP. Was able to pick up a couple pieces of hateful and brutal gear with my PvE badges. I do fairly well in BGs so far and we are going to try some arenas together to just try it out, with eventually bring in a disc priest or holy pally for 3s. Any opinions? |

Wondering what this will do to the 2v2 bracket -- PTR 3.2 Notes: World of Warcraft - English (NA) Forums - PTR Patch 3.2.0 Notes "The newest season of Arena gear can only be purchased if you meet the requirements with your 3 or 5-player team rating. Rating requirements from 2-player teams can still be used to purchase the previous season of gear." I am currently running 2v2 as destro with a rogue. It's fun if he can get the jump on people but basically we lose to anything with a warrior or a priest or a hunter that's on the ball with flares. Druids are tough too unless he can ambush them. We're just creeping upwards currently at 1100 rating though so we're not a good example of what this comp can or can not do against a good team (these 10 point advances really make for slow going). A hunter I'd imagine would be similar -- just try to burst down someone as quickly as possible before one of you dies but no reliance on stealth may make that a better comp? I'd be curious to hear how you guys make out. |

if i remember i will try and update you, my hunter friend is currently leveling his new pet (some crab thing) so we have dual stuns with my succubus and his crabs pinch ability. We are banking that if we spam one player with our pets (probably healer or who we feel is the bigger threat CC wise) we should be able to do ok. We don't expect to get anywhere with this comp, but more just looking at giving arenas a shot as we havn't stepped foot in arenas. |

Malasada - I've just crept over the 1200 mark so I know where you are coming from. I'm running with a shadow priest - not the ideal partner but I'm not looking to rock the world. ![]() Back to the OP... I think communication, teamwork and strategy play a bigger role than class. Yes you can take two overpowered classes and do well without communication etc. but I don't think it will be fun and it will only last a season before the nerfs. So... I would say find someone who is on your wavelength and have a blast regardless of the class. I'm having a much better time with a spriest at 1200 rating than when I ran affliction with a druid at 1700 rating in a previous season... Good luck. |

Agreed, Skinnertor. My rogue partner is a riot, so once I resigned myself to never getting a decent pvp weapon this season it becomes a lot more fun. He also has a priest that I ran with in S4 with some success that he's gearing up now for arenas, and specced Disc I'll probably try affliction out with him when he gets over the 500 resilience mark. Finally getting the hang of the portal thingy (btw Echoport EchoPort : WoWInterface Downloads : Warlock is extremely helpful) so maybe I can be persuaded to give up Shadowfury as I read in other places that healer + affliction is a good comp. Bleh, just read tclkage's comments above guess we'll be saving that disc priest / afflock combo for 3s or 5s. Aside from getting a kick out of hearing him boast about stunlocking a druid to death out of stealth, his next favorite thing to chirp about is dispelling a pally bubble... I am running with another warlock in 2's for arenas. I was wondering if we both should try DESTRO or have a mix up between the two of us. What would you all suggest? We usually get stuck around the 1000 team rating mark as 2 Destro's. |

Re: Arena mate for 2vs2
I have the 20/51 destrospecc as my pvpspecc and I like it. The succys seduce can really save me when I get stunlocked or similiar things. In 2v2 arena I run with a frostmage which I think works kinda good since poly and fear/seduce dont share DR. Also we got kinda nice burst so if we cc say a healer we can burst down the dps before the healer is back in his toes. Also a frostmage is pretty good against melee which locks aint and thats also a plus. ^^ |
