Dueling as Destro
Today while waiting to get ready for VoA25 I was challenged to a duel by a rogue...I won. After this I was challenged by 2 druids, 2 DK's, a pally (or two, I don't remember)...and I won them all (except for I lost 2 of the 4 duels with the rogue.) Then someone offered 50g to the first person who could beat me in a duel...no one managed to do it until this well geared BM hunter mopped the floor with me, and this brings me to the point of this thread. How does a Destro lock go about beating a well geared BM hunter IN A DUEL if they have BM ready at the beginning? I can't CC him or out burst him (because he can still CC me of course)...maybe I am missing something. The best I got was to try to LoS him and use Demonic Teleport to stay away from his pet long enough to out last BM, but I didn't have enough time to duel him more as the raid was ready to go. Just thought I would ask because I was bored, lol. Again, this is just for DUELS, as I don't fund hunters all that hard to manage in BG's or arena. PS~ 37 wins, 7 losses...not too bad considering I onl had the PVP trinket up every two or three matches. ;)

I haven't as yet (touch wood) had any problems with a BM hunter, but then again that could be due to the fact I haven't come across any good ones. I usually put CoW on the pet and unload on the hunter. With Backlash and the pet hitting me, I get a fair few procs for the insta-cast and can usually drop them quite easily, but that's just me. |

If I had been using the VW this might be a different case...but I personally find playing with the VW, albeit useful at times, very boring.

I think you've answered your own question. PVE spec BM hits very hard and with no LOS or CC you are doomed. VW may save you if you can get a crit chain off and take him down before the shield drops. As soon as I see one in the arenas I'm straight for the pillars for a hug...
