Re: Warlock PvP
Good job we're not on the same server then ;). Nah i bet destro is a great spec in PvP. The burst is nice (well i bet it is anyway). You have to think incredibly quick with affliction or you'll get destroyed in seconds. It's not a case of 3 shotting your opponent with chaos bolt/incinerate/conflagrate it's more a case of dotting, running, cc'ing and watching them cry. |

Exactly. Although Jen (sorry if the abbreviation is impolite), Destro isn't quite that simple (although I wish it was) but compared to Aff its a breeze. I was always an aff-lock hence the name, but for pvp? Nah. These days I'm just pure (poor?) burst. IMO Aff takes too long and requires too much watching timers. If your full round of dots in one rotation won't take down the enemy then you're toast. I respect you for playing it but couldn't myself. Anyway, i think we've derailed this thread enough, which ones next

just to get the thread back to it's original purpose (lol) I have learned very quickly (which i am sure is common knowledge) to go after the healers first! i battled a warrior the other day and i would have had him destroyed in about 20 seconds if he didn't have an effin druid behind him healing away. so i have made it a personal goal in battlegrounds to go after the healers when a battle breaks out. i start out with curse of tongues to slow down there casting. then i do my normal rotation of immo/Conflag/CB/Shadowburn/ and if he starts getting out of hand i use shadowfury or deathcoil. sometimes a fear if needed. the problem is they can heal themselves (of course) so alot of times i have to keep a watch of the their cast bar and if they go to heal up, i'll throw up a shadowfury or deathcoil. the instant cast is vital. i will however sometimes save the fear for when they are at low health, that way i know they will heal up soon, and i can let my conflag, shadowflame and CB cool down. then i can get a few quick blasts in there at the end to cut em' down. now this all of course assumes that i do not get attacked from anyone else that is running around. i have successfuly destroyed quite a few healers this way. but i am still perfecting my skills

Why kill the healer first when you can hve all of their comrades dead first and then laugh as your melee steamroll's them? And a banished tree looks like a tree to the uninitiated :-)

ok, just thought of something. is there an addon that works kinda like a reverse threat meter... it shows who is giving you the most threat, like if i am in a BG and i am getting tore up, it will show who is doing the most damage to me? anybody know of anything?

Re: Warlock PvP
Good resto druids are nearly impossible to kill solo. You have to hope RNG is good to you and you get a few crits in a row. I prefer to just banish them and focus on dps. A few tips: Don't backpeddle Use your mouse to turn Keybind everything - if you click I suggest keybinding the most important spells and learning that way Be sure to be in range of your circle. Juke your casts - start casting a spell and stop it half way. This is to get melee to waste their interrupts. all of your defense spells are shadow - don't get locked out of your shadow school As affliction searing pain is your friend - it has a much shorter cast than SB and it wont' lock you out of the shadow school so you can still DoT. Anyways, I don't arena but these are jsut a few tricks I have picked up whilst reading forums and bging |
