Well, the great warlock is The World of Warcraft Armory This guy - i have a screenshot on that - in the Strand of the Ancients battleground was an absolute winner in the first position in the battle stats: 27 Killing blows - 0 deaths - 57 Honorable kills - 975999 damage... He slaughtered me many times and my rest alliance. 0 deaths. Extraordinary healing? I guess so, since the only 76 resilience does not fit with 0 deaths. 76 resilience - 0 deaths. It was so much a contradiction to me (who i usually die in seconds by warriors, rogue,s DK etc.. in spite of my 899 resilience) that i made a toon in Al-Akir just to ask advice from him. He said various things...Among others he said that: "I have a tankspec for Mimiron, which gives me an overall mitigation like over 1000 resilience..." !!!!! Is that some kind of jock? or is it true? It seems so nonsence to me that i have to rebuilt my whole point of view on PVP with a lock. He finally said that i should do instances to gather great spellpower and spec like him. I thought I knew how to play PVP. Now everything s going up and down...

Re: A great warlock and a "simple" question
I wouldn't draw conclusions one a data sample on one. There could be many reasons for the ONE battleground outcome. E.g. A dedicated healer tailing him. A dedicated peeler (e.g. a crowd controller). A lower average gear in the opposing side. No counter classes in the opposing side (e.g. rogues/warriors/dks/etc). No mortal strike debuff. The list goes on. |

so you checked his armory and noted that he had less then 100 res and concluded that's what he wore in BG? heaven forbid he had an alternative set designed for pvp |

Re: A great warlock and a "simple" question
Getting 27 kb and 59 hk in a bg isnt that hard, have done it multiple times for other persons that wanted the 20 kb 0 deaths achievement. Its just all about all the other people in the raid focusing on helping out that one person as someone mentioned earlier healers/peelers and people brinng enemies low for you to kill.Ofcourse if you are running with a grp thats just for the reason of helping that person get a good score it is gonna help the person get kbs if he is using PvE gear..im guessing the resi he had was from the medallion. |

Re: A great warlock and a "simple" question
well look at his spec: soul link 20% reduced damage molten skin 6% reduced damage nether protection demonic brutality: voidwalker shield is 20% stronger. add some resilience to that and a healer and you have some invincible warlock. His statement about his spec giving him the equivalent of 1000 resilience is true, but not in the way you think. If you compare a pvp geared lock, without soul link and molten skin and with 1000 resi, with this spec and 0 resi, this spec would always win, since 26% damage reduction is much much better than 1000 resi. That's what he prolly meant. PS. Try adding soul link glyph to that spec, and changing it a bit so you can get master demonologist, and get 10% more physical damage reduction from having the void out. Get some pvp gear, and laugh at rogues trying to kill you

Re: A great warlock and a "simple" question
i see a fair amount of premades in his stats, nothing jumped out at me like amazing arena rating....also the Strand is not much of a 1v1 as vehicle scores are mixed in.....I know when I lvled my original pallie up for sentimental reasons, i stuck in vehicles because the poor boy would get stomped on...I am going with he was in vehicle/gun a lot and he he got 47 hk kills in Strand he was a lousy teammate for hunting HK and not staying on objective...also using the statistics tabs are misleading in the armory as it only tracks from when armory data collections were started/for example I have 2 toons with over 25,000 and 1 at 22,000 yet the statistics....you really never know how a player is till you catch him in mano a mano in world pvp or group with him....BG's and arena can tilted because of circumstance/premades/high Hk's is only worthwhile stat in any BG if you are defending DB otherwise it means you were off objective and would get booted from our premades quickly Last edited by Bo_Shilo; June 30, 2009 at 07:34 PM.. |
