Soothing kiss in PvP?
I'm just a young lock here,but I'm having a blast learning and honing my abilities at the 29 bracket,before moving on to 39... I'm watching an abiet outdated,but yet usefull destruction duel guide right now,and when it comes to dueling warriors,it was suggested,just as the duel starts,to use "Soothing kiss" in order to take the warriors charge and force an Intercept... I did'nt realise Soothing kiss could have an actuall use in PvP,and yet I don't understand fully how Soothing Kiss works,cause I thought it was use to make a mob more likey to attack somthing else. So I guess my question would be is how does Soothing Kiss force an Intercept out of an warrior like that? or how does it take the charge away? |

Probably just puts the warrior into combat. The way that warrior ability "Charge" works is that it must be out of combat. However, there are talents deep in Arms and Protection trees that allow the warrior to Charge inside combat. Infact the Protection talent also permits the warrior to Intercept from defence stance. In the 29 bracket, you will need to model a typical warrior PVP build and see if they can access these talents. And consider this in you're put the warrior in combat trick. |

Actually Supernex, The max ranked VWability AOE taunt "Suffering" is the one that reduces chance to hit. Soothing kiss reduces attacking speed by 10%. Siphon, although it is not crucial, lowering your melee opponent's attack speed is a good thing that will improve your survivability just a little bit more. Yes, as Thralock pointed out, Soothing kiss can be used to get people into combat, but this is a minor point as your standard invisible succubus is also quite good into forcing combat from a distance. Soothing kiss does have a bit of a range (10 yards), so it will get the warrior into combat than say a standard Succubus Attack. Bottom line, it is not a big deal, but it helps....
