Re: banishing trees- is it worth it?
My other main toon is a resto Druid... so I LOVE banishing trees mwhaha! I often heal in elf form precisely so I don't get targeted and/or banished. The "best" time to banish is like the posters said above - when the druid is at the back of a pack and can't be hit easily. I've been chain banished while the opposition tore through the dps and then circled around me to wait for the banish to wear off... ouch. Honestly though DoTs + mana drain are probably even worse. Mana drain (if they notice) will force them to shape shift and stop healing. If they don't notice well... they can innervate every 6 mins but thats about it. Mana draining does pin point your location though for retaliation. |

The main thing banishing a druid does is allow you to juggle your Diminishing Returns. Good druids in the arena pillar hump, Cyclone to stop casts, and throw hots everywhere. The key is keeping them locked down while you burst them or somebody else. Banish and Fear don't share the same diminishing returns. That means you can keep fearing, then switch to banishes. Eventually he'll eat an entire fear/banish and it should give you time to burn somebody down (destro) or get them into drain soul territory. Or you can make a quick switch to the druid after the fear/banish is up, use spell lock or shadowfury and go all out on them. generally tho resto druid/warr is an auto loss for most lock/healer teams ;(

Re: banishing trees- is it worth it?
In BG's I generally use banish just to get a good laugh! A druid in tree form is generally asking to be banished. If used properly it can be used to set up a great counter attack or prevent a tree druid from getting away, so that the group can set-up properly and burn it down. Now if only we can use banish on rogues........

If the druid is a tree, he is asking to be banished. If a Lock is a demon, he NEEDs ot be banished. Repeat. and laugh. |
