If you are refering to SL/SL then no; Warrior/Druid was a strong counter to us and so was Rogue/DPriest yet those comps are still fine today while we're at the bottom of the barrel.

The inherit problem with the current situation is not us but melee and Mages. All PvP balance of Casters vs Melee vs Us are implying Caster = Mage which is not true and effectively makes things much harder on Warlocks, SPriests, Ele Shaman and Moonkins. Secondly the tools melee get to help them against Healers hurt us just as bad if not more as we don't have the benefit of quick heals.

I guess I'm among those giving destro locks a "bad name" then. I prefer to stay in the chaos of the big battleground crowds and there's no doubt my Immolate/Conflagrate/Chaos bolt combo hurts in the receiving end. On the other hand, I'm only half in PvP gear, so once targeted by melee, I drop like a barrel of pyrite. The complainers will of course only notice what they receive, not how squishy I actually am.

okay just went to do some practice arenas today to see wut i didn't know. WOW and ouch are my only words.

not only am I the #1 target for CC and burst etc, i live all of 5 seconds. i only lived 1 game with a disc priest-but they didnt even touch him.

i know my resil is very low (a bit above 600) but shit i thought id have more survivability then that. I survived better before the resil changes of the patch-didn't get crit as much (which seems to just decimate me).

I lost 2 times to an arms warrior in duels today (stood no chance) and lost a shit ton to a pally who only had 800 resil. i mean wtf? 200 more resil and beats me all the damn time.


idk maybe i just need to go through the process of re-re-learning to be a destro lock, b/c i popped every trick i had in arenas and in duels and i even changed rotation and pets and just damn i got torn apart b/c well fear=broken/resist easily-almost useless cc, and then we have little to use to escape beyond that. i want to have the nice tricks mages have lol

frost bolt, frost nova, cone of cold, blink, invis, shield, slow.

we have fear-hot (useless unless aff)-death coil-CoEx if aff?

Yeah unfortunately for us we are almost always the main target. We are very vulnerable and any good pvper knows that. Also if left alone we are extremely dangerous. Those two in combination with each other paints a big bulls eye on us.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to really pvp since the patch. My arena partner has found a new love for pve, namely the new 5man and heroics. I too have been busy doing the new dailies and a few heroics a night, so pvp has fallen to the wayside for us for now, but I am sure it will pick up again once we get all we can from emblems

I do think that if after the patch, and the changes made to help us don't prove to be helping us that bliz will implement some sort of change. They have said they are prepared to make extra changes if needed.. hopefully this is already ready to go and can be implemented via a hotfix. /fingers crossed

Warlocks have a lot of CC, honestly they are dominant in BG.

Sure, if you get in range of a melee, things can get bad, but a warlock has a lot of survivability: soul link, healstones (you have no excuse if you die without using it), Sacrifice.
The only problem I ever had is with rogues.

When I play with any class, the two classes I instantly rush to kill in BGs are rogues and then warlocks. If they get the initiative, both can kill me in CC, while I can do barely anything.
