Finally won at arena! but i need a little help
Okay so last week me and my rl friend decided to play some arena matched so he switched to horde and i tranfered to his server. Hes a DK. when we first played we lost every single one of our matches. we just plain sucked. but after i specced to destro and he specced to unholy things started going real good and now this week we won as many games as we lost (19). Even if our rating isnt that great its easily the funnest thing ive ever done in wow. The problem is that even though i have decent gear, 685 resil and 21k health. My friend doesnt. and he doesnt have much experience either. Hes really open to me giving him tips and just simply telling him what to do. but i just dont know what he should be doing anymore. Basically the fights start with him attacking the player we chose to, then i cc the other one and burst the first one when i get the chance. this has been working really well because at this matchmaking level i can kill everyone with immolate-chaos bolt-conflagrate and maybe1-2 incinerates. Is this how it should be done? What should my role or his role be in a fight? more specifically his. because if left alone i know i can kill people really quick. but is it up to him to keep others away from me and let me burst, or should it be my job to avoid the hunter/rogues/dks/pally/dks, which are harder to defend myself from, but which i can kill fairly easily. Any tips? Sorry if made alot of mistakes i haven't written this much in english in a long time. |

Honestly its both his job to keep them off you and your job to avoid them. As a doupble dps team, you might the right call by going destro. Affliction is good with a healer, but arena means burst so destro is (unfortunately IMHO) the better choice in many popular comps. Most teams will, or should, target you first. I hate it, but we all know we are dangerous if left alone. EVERYONE knows that immo + conflag = a lot of damage and they will want to kill you before you can do too many of those. Plus we are squishy and every knows that too. They can kill us quickly, making it a 2 on 1 fight which is just a better strategy. Ultimately it takes practice and eventually you two will get it down. It is obvious but while he is attacking the kill target he should turn and deathgrip+Chain of Ice the guy beating on you. |

It sounds like you are new to arena so i will say this. Go demo with a dk, its very fun. I used to run it at about 1750 which is probably the rating it becomes not viable but its still very fun. Dk warlock im sorry to say just isnt a viable comp for 2's in high end, but if you are only in it for fun go demo. Get your dk mate some gear and go demo. Things will die very fast |

dont go demo like Ultimo says. Demo has nothing good for arena in 2v2s, lacks the burst damage that is needed to do everything. i havent seen one warlock that was in a demo spec for the fact of im pretty sure he dosent want to get laughed at and killed in 2 secs because he would have no defences. Destro is by far the best way to go with an unholy DK go a lock in my server that rolls with a DK and they are bringing in the Relentles gear |
