3.2 Focusing and Mouseover

Hi guys, having some trouble understanding how to focus and mouseover certain targets.

From what I've gathered, the focus fear macro works when you Right Click the portrait and go to Set Focus so clicking the macro will fear that target.

What I don't get is how to mouseover fear? If someone can explain that in very simple terms it will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Focusing and Mouseover

mouseover target will cast the spell on the target which your mouse pointer is on. You must cast the spell using the keyboard or mouse bouton 3+
/cast [target=mouseover] Spell
A more complete one to avoid to queue a spell that cannot be cast on self or death tagets
/cast [target=mouseover, exists, nodeath] Spell

I'm not 100% of the macro cuz i'm at work, but it should work. Remember you have to point a target with your mouse cursor before casting the spell.
Focus is another value for modifier target. You can have up to 1 focus at all time. While you have a focused target, you don't have to point, or select the target when casting a spell with [target=focus].
For all possible targets, you still have to respect the line of sight restrictions.

I have been working on macros since the PvP guide was posted (great post btw). I understand the mouseover macro but it would be easer to use if i could quickly set a focus. If there is a quick way to set a focus please let me know.

thanks

Not sure if this is the fastest way or not but I use the addon Gladdius and it allows for key bindings to set your target and focus target for any opponent in the Arenas... So I set my target and focus target by just pushing the appropriate buttons depending on who I want to target or focus target...

Corrected the macro above.

@Wymoril
Code:
/target [target=mouseover,nodead]
/focus
/targetlasttarget
This will focus your mouseover without losing your target. It may act a little screwy if you don't have a target though.

This works vary well. I set the macro to my hot key then binded the "F" key to it. Now when I am running at people I can put my mouse over the Focus and press F, from then on the healer is in my world. lol.

Is there more of a benefit to using the mouse over macro than using the standard focus fear macro?

I use:
#showtooltip Fear
/focus [target=focus, exists, nodead]
/cast [target=focus] Fear; Fear
/clearfocus [modifier:shift]
(This my not be written exactly correct, I can't recall because I've used the same one for so long)

If the units aren't stealthed, I just target them with Gladius and hit the macro on the fly so I already have my focus set and the clear focus modifier if I need to switch on the fly. Just wondering if I would have some kind of extra advantage using the mouse over macro over the one I currently use?
