Survive and kill
How do i do it. i just started doing 2v2s in the lowest bracket possible. I have almost 800 resil (i know kinda low in comparison to whats possible), but if I go destro (what im better at) I cant stay alive long enough to kill anything, if I go affliction I can survive but i have so little damage that nothing dies. wtf do you do seriously what am i missing here

dude, i have the same problem, though i still prefer destro's burst over affliction's survival i the key key to playing destro is using its CC abilities, such as fear, shadowfury, and seduce |

well i know the key for destro is ofc the CC, but that is true to any lock. It also doesn't help that just about every cc spell gets broke/resisted all the time. only reason im trying affliction is b/c as destro i have time to do like all of 2 spells then die, afflicition i sometimes live longer. but really even with with using void sac i dont live long enough to do anything. i use health stones my trinket silences, void shield cc and i literally die in less then 20-30 seconds. wth am i missing

Well what do you partner with since that plays a big part in what you should do. If you dual DPS then the best move is destro and just focus burn one target down. If you have a healer survivaibilty becomes more of an issue since you won't be able to burst down quick enough. |

800 resilience is not low, BTW, its actually pretty good. ;) I've seen top Arena guys with like 700, so that is not such an issue. PvP is now a lot about burst. Affliction can work in 3x3 and 5x5 if you have good partners, but overall, Destro is the way to go. You might want to try a 20/51 spec, it gives you a lot more utility, namely Demonic Aegis (you need spell power!) and Fel Domination (imporved), which is a must in Arena to re-summon your dead Succy (and she WILL get killed!) or switch to another pet if you need it. The trick to Warlock survival is indeed CC. If you do not CC, you will die, and quick! And not just throw in a fear from time to time! Seduce, fear, and anything that can affect movement is a must and be be implemented in your rotation. Here's an example or a "opening" rotation". Of course it's never like that in real life, but it gives you an idea: Shadowfury, Immolate, (move) Conflagrate, (move) Seduce, Chaosbolt, Immolate, fear, Teleport, Immolate, Seduce, Confalg again, etc. We can debate forever on the rotation, its just an example. The main idea to cast CC spell in between every other damage spells or so, and always be moving. Now, you know your target is often going to tricket out of the first CC. So open with Shadowfury, cast an attack spell, and CC again. Also, maybe you need a bit of Spell Penetration and Hit rating. I am also assuming you are making boogers for your partner ;) The two most powerfull Lock spells in Arena are Teleport Circle and Shadowfury. Learn to use your teleport, it will save your life (its a godsend against Warriors) and shadowfury whenever its off cooldown: its your stun (and this also means INTERRUPT!) spell!  Use the terrain. If there is a column, run around it. The bridge one is the coolest to use Teleport in! Cast it on the bridge, then jump off, only to teleport back and burn your target from above! Tons of fun! Two last things: macro and keybiding. Seriously. Reaction time is critical in Arena, so anything you can do to react faster is a must. I used to be a clicker, and that was a serious handicap in PvP. Some pet macro, critical spell bound to 1-2-3, etc, it makes a huge difference. Oh, there is an awesome Arena mod called Gladius. It shows all of the enemy's unit frames in a small box. It allows for targeting by clicking on it, and you get to see all casting, trinket use and so on. Its pretty nifty and helps a lot! Good luck! I hope some of it will help! The succubus=win in 2v2. I played a 2v2 team to 1450 rating in one night with less than 700 resillience and I'm not a particularly good player, it's all about cc and communication. I used the succubus in around 70-80% of all the fights, only swapping her out when she was oom. If it was a dual caster team I might swap to the fel hunter. What you need to practise is interupting with seduce. Bind it to a key that's easy to access, personally I use on the extra mouse buttons (4 I think it is). Also, the destro chain in a perfect world (no resist and no cc broken) would be something along the lines of seduce, immolate, conflagrate, seduce, immolate, shadowfury, chaos bolt, death coil, incinerate, conflagrate, shadowburn. That would be the most damage you should be able to drop on anyone and if they don't die from that they're either prot specced or being healed.
